Liquid scintillator as tracking detector for high-energy events [PDF]
A large-volume liquid scintillator can be used as a tracking detector to measure high-energy neutrino events, like atmospheric neutrinos and neutrino beams. The lepton flavor recognition is almost absolute above 1 GeV. The energy resolution is 2--5 %, the main uncertainties coming from nuclear physics and poorly recognized hadrons.

A Novel Simulation Approach for Damage Evolution during Tailored Forming
Traditional damage models are struggling to accurately and efficiently simulate large‐scale three‐dimensional models with a great number of degrees of freedoms. A new gradient‐enhanced damage model based on the extended Hamilton principle can significantly reduce the computation time while ensuring mesh‐independence which is suitable to use in tailored

A novel metadata schema is introduced to address the sparsity of microstructure‐sensitive mechanical data. The design follows the material modeling workflow, as each run results in the definition of unique data objects. The schema includes categorical elements to ensure findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability (FAIR). This approach

Developing process parameters for the laser‐based Powder Bed Fusion of metals can be a tedious task. Based on melt pool depth, the process parameters are transferable to different laser scan speeds. For this, understanding the melt pool scaling behavior is essential, particularly for materials with high thermal diffusivity, as a change in scaling ...
