Sol-gel Autocombustion Synthesis of Nanocrystalline High-entropy Alloys

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
A reduction in the particle size is expected to improve the properties and increase the application potential of high-entropy alloys. Therefore, in this study, a novel sol–gel autocombustion technique was first used to synthesize high-entropy alloys. The

Destabilizing high-capacity high entropy hydrides via earth abundant substitutions: from predictions to experimental validation

open access: yes
The vast chemical space of high entropy alloys (HEAs) makes trial-and-error experimental approaches for materials discovery intractable and often necessitates data-driven and/or first principles computational insights to successfully target materials ...

Entropy-Driven Stabilization of Multielement Halide Double-Perovskite Alloys

open access: yes, 2022
Currently, a major obstacle restricting the commercial application of halide perovskites is their low thermodynamic stability. Herein, inspired by the high-stability high-entropy alloys, we theoretically investigated a variety of multielement double ...

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Effect of atomic size difference on the type of major intermetallic phase in arc-melted CoCrFeNiX high-entropy alloys

open access: yes, 2018
Strengthening high-entropy alloys (HEAs) by precipitates or second phases is a very appealing direction. However, knowledge regarding the relationship between composition and intermetallic phase type in HEAs is extremely rare.

A Knowledge‐Based Approach for Understanding and Managing Additive Manufacturing Data

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing processes generate a large amount of data. Effectively managing, understanding, and retrieving information from this data remains a major challenge. Therefore, we propose an ontology‐based approach to integrate heterogeneous data, enable semantic queries, and support decision‐making.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.
