Integrating ancestry, differential methylation analysis, and machine learning, we identified robust epigenetic signature genes (ESGs) and Core‐ESGs in Black and White women with endometrial cancer. Core‐ESGs (namely APOBEC1 and PLEKHG5) methylation levels were significantly associated with survival, with tumors from high African ancestry (THA) showing ...

Research Progress and Prospect of High-Entropy Alloy Materials
With the rapid development of world’s technological level and the urgent demand of national economic construction for high-performance alloy materials, traditional single-component alloys gradually fail to satisfy the increasing service requirements ...

A nucleotide‐independent, pan‐RAS‐targeted DARPin elicits anti‐tumor activity in a multimodal manner
We report a Designed Ankyrin Repeat Protein that binds and inhibits RAS proteins, which serve as central cell signaling hubs and are essential for the progression of many cancers. Its unique feature is that it does not discriminate between different RAS isoforms or mutations and is capable of binding to RAS in both its active (GTP‐bound) and inactive ...

The effect of processing route on properties of HfNbTaTiZr high entropy alloy [PDF]
High entropy alloys (HEA) have been one of the most attractive groups of materials for researchers in the last several years. Since HEAs are potential candidates for many (e.g., refractory, cryogenic, medical) applications, their properties are studied ...

In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

The statistical physics of multi-component alloys using KKR-CPA
We apply variational principles from statistical physics and the Landau theory of phase transitions to multicomponent alloys using the multiple-scattering theory of Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker (KKR) and the coherent potential approximation (CPA).

d‐Allulose can be produced from d‐fructose by d‐allulose 3‐epimerase. Based on sequence homology information, we successfully engineered thermostable mutants with the protein engineering method. By integrating positive mutations, we constructed an enzyme that exhibits hyperthermostability without a loss in the activity.

Structure and mechanical properties of Al-Co-Cr-Fe-Mn-Ni-Si-V high-entropy films obtained by splat-quenching [PDF]
The multicomponent films of Al-Co-Cr-Fe-Mn-Ni-Si-V high-entropy alloys obtained by splat-quenching from melt were investigated. Phase formation criteria for high-entropy alloys were considered. The films have a structure with body-centered cubic lattice.
