Esketamine Preserves Network Connectivity and Promotes Recovery in Consciousness Disorders

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 5, May 2026.
Esketamine anesthesia promotes consciousness recovery in patients with disorders of consciousness by preserving brain network complexity and connectivity during surgery. Compared to propofol, esketamine facilitates superior neurophysiological preservation and shows a strong trend toward improved long‐term clinical outcomes.

Coupled Fluid–Structure–Acoustic Analysis of Flow‐Induced Noise Control Using an Elastic Baffle in a Micro Channel

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 5, Page 2571-2582, May 2026.
This research explores how fluid flow, structural movement, and sound interact in an elastic baffle system. Using a numerical approach based on the finite element method, the study analyzes how noise and vibrations change with different baffle configurations. The findings reveal that shortening the baffle by half reduces noise transmission by 9%, while

Analysis of Pulsatile Vessel Expansion in Healthy, COPD‐ and PH‐Patients Using Dynamic Vessel Segmentation in Free‐Breathing Lung MRI

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Volume 63, Issue 5, Page 1420-1432, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The pulsatile expansion of pulmonary vessels carries dynamic cardiopulmonary information that may reveal disease earlier than structural changes alone. Purpose To test (i) intra‐ and inter‐scan repeatability of dynamic vessel metrics in healthy subjects, and (ii) whether chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and postcapillary

Heat and Cold Waves in Brazil: An ERA5‐Based Analysis of Trends and Seasonality (1980–2024)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, Volume 46, Issue 6, May 2026.
This study uses ERA5 reanalysis data to assess changes in extreme heat and cold events across Brazil from 1980 to 2024. Results reveal a sharp increase in heatwave frequency and a general decline in coldwave occurrences, though regional variations are substantial.

Laboratory Characterization of Cryogenic Frost‐Point Hygrometers Using an Upper Air Simulator

open access: yesMeteorological Applications, Volume 33, Issue 3, May/June 2026.
Cryogenic frost‐point hygrometers (CFHs) are widely used to accurately measure water vapor pressure in the upper atmosphere. The performance of CFHs has been thoroughly evaluated using an Upper Air Simulator (UAS), a controlled laboratory system designed to generate and regulate frost‐point levels across a range of temperatures.
