Checkpoint blockade and the stem‐like T cell trade‐off
Stem‐like T cells are key to the success of programmed cell death protein 1 (PD1) blockade, as they sustain long‐term anti‐tumor response by continuously generating effector CD8+ T cells. However, how these cells are maintained in cancer is not fully understood. Hor et al.

Revisiting the trading activity of high-frequency trading firms around ultra-fast flash events
We investigate high-frequency traders’ behavior in the context of the fastest and most extreme price movements (EPMs) that can be observed in the market, specifically ultra-fast flash events, challenging the methodologies employed in the academic and ...

A New model for conducting high-frequency Trading Using Collaborative Cellular Learning Automata Algorithm and Extremal Optimization (CLA-EC-EO ) [PDF]
IntroductionAt the same time as the speed of financial exchanges increases, many complications are also added to it, and the amount of attention paid to the role of human actors in it has faded, and the method of high-frequency trading is over time.

Influencing Factors Analysis of Crude Oil Futures Price Volatility Based on Mixed-Frequency Data
This article takes into account the form of mixed data as well as the peak and thick tail characteristics contained in the data characteristics, expands the GARCH-MIDAS (Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity-Mixed Data Sampling) model,

High-Frequency Trading and Price Informativeness [PDF]
We study how stock price informativeness changes with the presence of high-frequency trading (HFT). Our estimate is based on the staggered start of HFT participation in a panel of international exchanges. With HFT presence market prices are a less reliable predictor of future cash flows and investment, even more so for longer horizons.

Transitions in the Stock Markets of the US, UK, and Germany [PDF]
In an analysis of the US, the UK, and the German stock market we find a change in the behavior based on the stock's beta values. Before 2006 risky trades were concentrated on stocks in the IT and technology sector.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...

Risk and Return in High-Frequency Trading
We study performance and competition among firms engaging in high-frequency trading (HFT). We construct measures of latency and find that differences in relative latency account for large differences in HFT firms’ trading performance.

High-frequency trading with fractional Brownian motion
In the high-frequency limit, conditionally expected increments of fractional Brownian motion converge to a white noise, shedding their dependence on the path history and the forecasting horizon and making dynamic optimisation problems tractable.

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,
