High frequency transformer modeling

ISCAS 2001. The 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (Cat. No.01CH37196), 2002
This paper presents a technique of indirect measurement of linear and nonlinear elements of a wideband transformer using the reflection coefficient technique with the scattering matrix (S-parameters). The S-parameter frequency domain measurement method of the wideband RF transformer and conversion into a discrete model is discussed. The leakage and the

High-Frequency Transformer Design with High-Voltage Insulation for Modular Power Conversion from Medium-Voltage AC to 400-V DC

European Conference on Cognitive Ergonomics, 2020
CCG Facility Integration proposed that the 4.16-kVAC power distribution in a data center greatly reduces the loss on cable, especially when compared to 480-VAC distribution.

Difficulties in high frequency transformer modeling

Electric Power Systems Research, 2016
Traditional transformer models available in EMTP-like software packages are not capable of representing transformer behavior during a transient state, which includes high frequencies, since they usually do not adequately take into account the transformer resonant behavior caused by its highly complicated design.

High-Voltage, High-Frequency Transformer Design

2012
Conversion of AC mains voltages to a high-voltage (>10 kV), high-power (>10 kW) DC level is a key area of technology which is a requirement in many industrial processes, for example, in particulate emission control using electrostatic precipitators. In the majority of cases, this high-voltage DC requirement is achieved with a singlephase AC regulator ...

High voltage, high frequency conversion transformer

IECEC-97 Proceedings of the Thirty-Second Intersociety Energy Conversion Engineering Conference (Cat. No.97CH6203), 2002
A 25 kW, 15 kV output, 50 kHz transformer with 100 kV primary to secondary isolation is described. The transformer will be the central element of a resonant inverter. Six of these resonant inverter outputs will be connected in series to produce 90 kV for an airborne application.

High frequency-selectivity impedance transformer

2015 IEEE Radio and Wireless Symposium (RWS), 2015
This paper presents the design of an impedance transformer (IT) with high selectivity and wide out-of-band suppression characteristics. The proposed IT provides two transmission poles in the passband and a sharp frequency selective characteristic. For validation, a 50-to-20 Ω IT has been implemented at a center frequency (f 0 ) of 2.6 GHz.

Accurate Calculation of Eddy Current Loss in Litz-Wired High-Frequency Transformer Windings

IEEE transactions on magnetics, 2018
The winding power loss of a high frequency transformer is strongly influenced by the high frequency eddy current skin and proximity effects. The litz-wire can reduce effectively the eddy current effects.

High-frequency planar power transformers

IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 1992
High-frequency transformer design using the transmission line transformer (TLT) is described. Utilizing transmission line circuit theory, the characteristics of the TLT for different turn ratios are given, and its advantages, including its wideband nature, are discussed. TLT prototypes with turn ratios of 2:1, 3:1, and 5:1 were designed and fabricated.

High-Frequency Transformer Review and Design for Low-Power Solid-State Transformer Topology

2019 IEEE Texas Power and Energy Conference (TPEC), 2019
The objectives of this paper are to review and compare the design of high-frequency transformers (HFTs) for low-power solid-state transformer (SST) converter topologies.
