Treatments Technology and Mechanisms of East Asia Black Cotton Soil

open access: yesBuildings
The East Asia black cotton soil (BCS) cannot be used as embankment filling directly due to its high clay content, liquid limit, plasticity index, and low CBR strength (CBR < 3%).

Zinc Exposure Causes Disulfidptosis to Induce Miscarriage by Up‐Regulating GATA1/METTL1/SLC7A11 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zn exposure up‐regulates GATA1, promoting GATA1‐mediated METTL1 and SLC7A11 transcription. It also enhances METTL1‐mediated m7G modification on SLC7A11 mRNA, increasing SLC7A11 mRNA stability. Ultimately, Zn exposure up‐regulates SLC7A11 at both transcriptional and post‐transcriptional levels, causing disulfidptosis. Knockdown of murine Slc7a11, Gata1,

A Rare Allele of ST5 From Wild Rice Enhances Salt Tolerance in Rice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel salt‐tolerance gene ST5W, characterized by a unique 36‐bp promoter insertion, is found exclusively in a small subset of Oryza rufipogon and is absent in cultivated rice. Field trials confirm ST5W significantly enhances rice yield across diverse genetic backgrounds under saline conditions.

Canagliflozin Alleviates Diabetic Glomerular Endothelial Injury via Melibiose in a Microbiota‐Dependent Manner

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Canagliflozin treatment reshapes the gut microbiota in DKD and elevates levels of melibiose, a metabolite derived from Roseburia intestinalis. Melibiose directly binds to and enhances the enzymatic activity of glyoxalase 1, leading to decreased methylglyoxal accumulation.

Liquid limit determination of medium to high plasticity Algerian soils using fall-cone vs Casagrande percussion cup methods

open access: yesActa Geodynamica et Geomaterialia
Determining the liquid limit (LL) of fine-grained soils is crucial in geotechnical site investigations. For a long time, the Casagrande Percussion Cup (CPC) test has been the standard method for this purpose. Although the Fall Cone Test (FCT) provides more repeatable results compared to the CPC test, its utilization remains limited in Algeria.
