Development on high-power and high power density capacitor charging power supply

2014 17th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Launch Technology, 2014
This paper discussed the high-power and the miniaturization technology of capacitor charging power supply. The design and implementation of parallel operating high power density CCPS prototype with "peak current shifting control" was described. The single CCPS prototype output power is 35kW and the whole output power of parallel operating CCPS is 70kW.

A High-Power High-Voltage Power Supply for Long-Pulse Applications

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2009
This paper describes a concept and a physical demonstration of a high-efficiency small-size low-cost 100-kV 100-kW high-voltage (HV) power supply (HVPS) designed for long-pulse applications (units of milliseconds to dc operation). Key technology includes a modular HV converter with energy-dosing inverters that run at about 50 kHz and have demonstrated ...

High-Power Duplexers

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1961
The various circuit arrangements used in duplexers are analyzed in terms of their power-handling ability in two situations: first, where the bandwidth is narrow so that insertion loss determines maximum Q, and second, where large bandwidths are required and the maximum Q is determined by available Q band-width products.

High-power and high-spatial-coherence broad-area power amplifier

Optics Letters, 1991
A broad-area AlGaAs amplifier operating cw has delivered 425 mW of total power with 342 mW in a single lobe diverging at 1.02x the diffraction limit (FWHM 0.483 degrees , 87.4-microm actual aperture) for a master oscillator input power of 70 mW.

High Power CMOS Power Amplifier for WCDMA

APCCAS 2006 - 2006 IEEE Asia Pacific Conference on Circuits and Systems, 2006
In this paper we propose a power amplifier (PA) for high output power and high linearity WCDMA applications. This PA is designed based on a three-stage configuration and an output stage designed by a multiple gated transistor topology. The test chip is simulated and fabricated with the TSMC 0.18mum CMOS process.

High Power Electronics

Soviet Physics Uspekhi, 1962
Electronic processes are used on an ever expanding scale in modern electrical engineering. Yet there is one field where electronics still finds little application. Indeed, electronic processes are widely used in measuring instruments (cathode ray oscillographs, photocells, high-frequency measuring devices, amplifiers, etc.), in cybernetics (automation,

New high power, high performance power converter systems

PESC 98 Record. 29th Annual IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference (Cat. No.98CH36196), 2000
A new, high performance, low cost power converter system architecture is proposed. The system consists of a main converter and a multifunctional load conditioner. The main converter deals with most of the power flow running at a low switching frequency.

A high-power, high-energy pulsed-power generator for high-impedance loads

2011 IEEE Pulsed Power Conference, 2011
A high-energy pulsed-power generator, based on a 415 kJ / 22 kV capacitor bank, has recently been developed and tested at Loughborough University. The generator can drive a load having a resistance of between 10 Ω and 40 Ω and a self-inductance between 10 µH and 30 µH, using conventional inductive storage techniques that include a high-voltage ...

High power asymmetrical thyristors

1985 IEEE Power Electronics Specialists Conference, 1985
The power loss of fast speed thyristors is relatively high, especially for higher blocking voltage devices. High power asymmetrical thyristors will reduce the power loss up to 40%. In this paper we will discuss the newly developed high power asymmetrical thyristors and their trade-off.
