High-Availability Power for MX

IEEE Power Engineering Review, 1982
With modern computer-based analyses it was sible to optimize an extensive power transmission and distribution network for supplying power to MX missile shelter sites. This network would serve some 4600 of these sites, located in suitable contiguous areas, with the shelter sites spaced one mile apart.

High power ultrasound standard

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002
A sensitive radiation force balance for laboratory measurement of ultrasonic power is presented. The principle of the system is based on measuring the ultrasonic radiation force exerted on a conical float suspended in water. Technical details of the implementation of the economically attractive system are described.

High Power Laser Diodes

2006 IEEE LEOS Annual Meeting Conference Proceedings, 2004
The 20-year-evolution of high-power laser diodes with a multitude of device designs that explore various practical applications is presented. The four major applications for high-power diode lasers, namely pumps for EDFAs, YAG rods, disk lasers and fiber lasers have a tremendous impact on the selection process in this evolution.

High power laser propagation

Applied Optics, 1976
High power laser beams propagating in the atmosphere are subjected to a variety of effects, the most important of which are absorption, scattering, turbulence induced beam spreading and wander, thermal blooming, and gas breakdown. In this paper simplified models are used to show how the various atmospheric effects interrelate and impact on the best ...

A High Power Attenuator for Microwaves

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1949
A high power variable attenuator has been developed for use in 10-cm wave guide transmission lines. The attenuating material is a liquid which serves also to transfer the absorbed energy. The attenuator can handle power levels up to 100 watts, has a power standing wave ratio less than 1.1 to 1, and an attenuation which is variable from 1.5 db to 40 db.

High power audio transformers

Electrical Engineering, 1936
A brief outline of the essential characteristics of high power audio transformers for class B amplification (tubes connected in push-pull fashion with their grid voltages of such value that the anode current is zero when there is no signal) is given here together with a brief description of the units used in the third and fourth stages of ...
