High power laser beams propagating in the atmosphere are subjected to a variety of effects, the most important of which are absorption, scattering, turbulence induced beam spreading and wander, thermal blooming, and gas breakdown. In this paper simplified models are used to show how the various atmospheric effects interrelate and impact on the best ...

4 GHz high-power high-efficiency pseudomorphic power HEMT
1993 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2002The power performance of 0.25- mu m*8-mm double recessed GaAs-based pseudomorphic high electron mobility transistors (PHEMTs) at 4 GHz is reported. The 0.25- mu m-gate-length PHEMTs exhibit typical gate-to-drain breakdown voltage of more than 20 V, peak transconductance of 430 mS/mm, and maximum drain current density of 450 mA/mm.

Development on high-power and high power density capacitor charging power supply
2014 17th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Launch Technology, 2014This paper discussed the high-power and the miniaturization technology of capacitor charging power supply. The design and implementation of parallel operating high power density CCPS prototype with "peak current shifting control" was described. The single CCPS prototype output power is 35kW and the whole output power of parallel operating CCPS is 70kW.

A mobile, high-power, high-energy pulsed-power system
2012 IEEE International Power Modulator and High Voltage Conference (IPMHVC), 2012A high-power, high-energy pulsed-power generator, based on a 415 kJ / 22 kV capacitor bank, has recently been developed and tested indoor at Loughborough University. The generator can drive a high-impedance system, generating a total electrical power of many GW while depositing Joule energy of many tens of kJ.

High power and high efficiency Ka band power amplifier
2015 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2015A 36 W Ka-band MMIC power amplifier using 0.2 um gate GaN HEMT technology is presented. The power was measured across 27 to 30 GHz with a minimum 30% PAE. A peak power of 40 W at 27 GHz was demonstrated. The MMIC area is a compact 13.5 mm^2 and uses 10.67 mm device periphery in the output stage.
