A high power density high voltage distributed power system for pulse power applications
Twentieth Annual IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition, 2005. APEC 2005., 2005In this paper, a high-density high-voltage distributed power system for pulse power applications is designed and implemented. Different topologies are evaluated for two power stages. According to pulse load condition, system power density is optimized through the tradeoff between power loss and magnetic component size.

Heat Transfer at High-Power Densities
Journal of Applied Physics, 1953The power densities that liquid metal cooling is capable of are explored. The advantages of liquid metals over conventional water cooling are shown. The presentation is such that one can choose between the available coolants for any particular application with a minimum of background.

Power Density Optimization in High Fidelity Power Drive
IEEE International Conference on Electric Machines and Drives, 2005., 2005This paper analyzes factors determining power density in high current and high MVA power electronic converters & solid-state switches and recommends practical approaches to increase power density. For years increase in power density was the result of improvements in the power semiconductors density, which is the determining factor in medium power ...

High energy and high power density electrochemical capacitors
Journal of Power Sources, 1996Abstract High energy density electrochemical capacitors were built with a newly discovered electrode material (amorphous RuO 2 · x H 2 O). Energy densities as high as 96 J/g (26 Wh/kg) were obtained based on the RuO 2 · x H 2 O electrode material alone. However, the power density of the capacitor is low.

High Power/Torque-Density Devices
2020Mechanical power transmission and handling devices are evaluated according to their power density, or else their torque density if it is not the power that is the issue of primary concern. The combination of high power or torque density with good energy efficiency may collectively be termed high-performance density.
