High Power-Density SiC Converter
Materials Science Forum, 2008A compact SiC converter having power densities about 9 W/cm3 is designed and fabricated. It is confirmed that the converter operates in a thermally permissive range. 2020High power density is one of the major attributes of gearing systems. It could primarily be achieved by adopting designs that feature multiple power paths, which make some of the gears multi-mesh gears, in particular the larger and heavier ones, and some of the pinions double-mesh ones.
