The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

Development on high-power and high power density capacitor charging power supply
2014 17th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Launch Technology, 2014This paper discussed the high-power and the miniaturization technology of capacitor charging power supply. The design and implementation of parallel operating high power density CCPS prototype with "peak current shifting control" was described. The single CCPS prototype output power is 35kW and the whole output power of parallel operating CCPS is 70kW.

Achieving high energy density and high power density with pseudocapacitive materials
Nature Reviews Materials, 2019Batteries and supercapacitors serve as the basis for electrochemical energy-storage devices. Although both rely on electrochemical processes, their charge-storage mechanisms are dissimilar, giving rise to different energy and power densities. Pseudocapacitive materials store charge through battery-like redox reactions but at fast rates comparable to ...

Power MOSFETs Paralleling Operation for High Power High Density Converters
Conference Record of the 2006 IEEE Industry Applications Conference Forty-First IAS Annual Meeting, 2006In high power high density converters, the power MOSFETs can be used in parallel as the main switch to meet the current rating requirement, increase the switching frequency, and reduce the power loss. This paper investigates the possible benefits and problems associated with the power MOSFETs paralleling operation for higher power high frequency ...

High power density thin film resistors
1975 EIC 12th Electrical/Electronics Insulation Conference, 1975Untrimmed Ni-Cr resistors on glazed alumina substrates, hermetically sealed in a dry nitrogen atmosphere, survive and remain stable when subjected to power densities greater 2000 W/in2. Large (>7 × 10−4in 2 ) resistors with standard top-hat trimming fail at less than 1000 W/in2 due to hot spots, however, a change in trim line configuration results in ...
