Temperature Measurements in High Pressure Combustion

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1993
AbstractWe report on a fundamental study of N2 and H2 CARS thermometry in a high‐pressure, premixed methane/air flame. Based on CARS spectra of high quality, models were developed for spectral shape calculations in order to determine accurate temperatures. Rotational Raman spectra were used to measure an independent reference temperature. The limits of

On the structure of high-pressure high-temperature η-O2

The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2009
In situ high-pressure high-temperature x-ray diffraction and optical studies have been conducted on solid oxygen between 10 and 20 GPa and up to 700 K. Optical observations and Raman spectroscopic studies have been utilized to confirm the existence of η-O2 and to identify phase behavior and phase boundaries of β-, ϵ- and η-O2 at elevated temperatures ...

A Temperature- and Pressure-Coupled Model for Surge Pressure in High-Temperature, High-Pressure Wells

SPE Journal
Summary In high-temperature, high-pressure (HTHP) wells with a limited safety margin during tripping operations, modifications in the properties of drilling fluid within the well are substantial. Accurate prediction of surge and swab pressures is crucial for secure drilling operations.

Pressure−Volume−Temperature Properties of Methyl Chloride at High Pressures and Temperatures

Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data, 2006
PVT data of methyl chloride were measured up to 400 MPa at eight isotherms ranging from (298.15 to 573.15) K. Experiments were performed with a thin-walled sample holder under equal pressure, both inside and outside. The volume change of the sample was determined with a separation system at 298.15 K by making use of a magnetic float on mercury and a ...

High Pressure, High Temperature Viscometer

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1967
An apparatus for measuring the relative viscosity of molten glass-forming oxides at elevated temperatures and pressures is described. It utilizes a concentric cylinder viscometer and electric furnace enclosed in a steel pressure bomb and is gas pressured.

High-Temperature-High- Pressure Diffractometry

Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry, 2000
Effective techniques for conducting high-pressure and high-temperature single-crystal X-ray diffraction experiments were developed in the 1970s. By the end of that decade a number of papers had been published that defined optimal methods for operating diffractometers, especially for high-pressure experiments.

306 High Pressure, High Temperature

2012
The greatest challenge in phase theoretical classical thermodynamics is the computational prediction of phase behaviour and thermophysical material properties for conditions that prevail in the interior of the earth. Conditions that are far away from the pressure and temperature values at the surface of the earth, and for that reason rather ...

Rubidium at high pressure and temperature

Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2000
In the present paper we report theoretical calculations for the Hugoniot of shock-compressed rubidium. We use an all-electron full-potential method based on density-functional theory to obtain the total energy, pressure and electronic density of states.

Temperature and pressure control system for high temperature and high pressure fluid-solid action

2011 International Conference on Computer Science and Service System (CSSS), 2011
A control system for the high temperature and high pressure fluid-solid action furnace based on the self-revise PID was introduced. The hardware system was composed by an industrial computer, a servo and PLC. The control system is already applied and experiments show that it can achieve the technical requirement in both stability and precision.

Dimerization of CO2 at High Pressure and Temperature

ChemPhysChem, 2005
Understanding the behavior of simple molecular systems under the combined effect of high pressure (P) and temperature (T) has important implications in the modeling of planetary interiors, in the chemistry of detonation, and in the synthesis of new materials.
