On achieving high accuracy and reliability in the calculation of relative protein–ligand binding affinities [PDF]
We apply a free energy perturbation simulation method, free energy perturbation/replica exchange with solute tempering, to two modifications of protein–ligand complexes that lead to significant conformational changes, the first in the protein and the second in the ligand.

The approach to solving linear systems with structured matrices by means of the bidiagonal factorization of the inverse of the coefficient matrix is first considered in this review article, the starting point being the classical Björck–Pereyra algorithms

Computing exponentials of essentially non-negative matrices entrywise to high relative accuracy [PDF]
A real square matrix is said to be essentially non-negative if all of its off-diagonal entries are non-negative. It has recently been shown that the exponential of an essentially non-negative matrix is determined entrywise to high relative accuracy by its entries up to a condition number intrinsic to the exponential function (Numer. Math.

Accurate Computations with Block Checkerboard Pattern Matrices
In this work, block checkerboard sign pattern matrices are introduced and analyzed. They satisfy the generalized Perron–Frobenius theorem. We study the case related to total positive matrices in order to guarantee bidiagonal decompositions and some ...

An Improved Long-Period Precise Time-Relative Positioning Method Based on RTS Data
The high precision positioning can be easily achieved by using real-time kinematic (RTK) and precise point positioning (PPP) or their augmented techniques, such as network RTK (NRTK) and PPP-RTK, even if they also have their own shortfalls.

Combined system of precise positioning of pilotless helicopter-type aircraft in the landing area [PDF]
On-board equipment, ground equipment, and special software have been developed and tested that makes it possible to determine with high accuracy the relative coordinates of a helicopter-type unmanned aerial vehicle relative to a quick deployment runway ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.
