A High-Resolution Imaging Radar at 580 GHz
IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2008We have developed a high-resolution imaging radar at 580 GHz. Coherent illumination in the 576-589 GHz range and phase-sensitive detection are implemented in an all-solid-state design based on Schottky diode sensors and sources. By employing the frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar technique, we achieve centimeter-scale range resolution ...

VSAR: a high resolution radar system for ocean imaging
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1998The velocity synthetic aperture radar (VSAR) is a conceptual synthetic aperture radar (SAR)-based sensor system for high resolution ocean imaging. The VSAR utilizes data collected by a multielement SAR system, to extract information not only about the radar reflectivity of the observed area, but also about the radial velocity of the scatterers in each ...

High Resolution Imaging of Chaotic Bistatic Radar
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2020High resolution imaging using chaos-based frequency modulation (CBFM) in a bistatic radar system is evaluated in terms of the cross-ambiguity function. A 3-D Lorenz system is used to generate and transmit a wideband CBFM waveform. The bistatic radar's receiver is synchronized with its transmitter utilizing a direct synchronization scheme.

High Resolution Polarimetric Radar Imaging and Applications
Frequenz, 1995The basic principle of the generation of high resolution complex target microwave images from scattered fields is outlined, and the derivation of so-called target characteristic parameters as well as target characteristic polarizations is described. Special emphasis is given to the analysis of localized scattering centres.
