Terahertz Radar with High Resolution Range Profile
2021 46th International Conference on Infrared, Millimeter and Terahertz Waves (IRMMW-THz), 2021In this paper, the performance of terahertz (THz) radar based on high resolution range profile (HRRP) is described. This terahertz radar, developed for the high resolution imaging under the complex environment such as sand-dust weather and so on, operates at 230GHz over multiple GHz of bandwidth.

High Range Resolution Profile of Simulated Aircraft Wake Vortices
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2012Knowledge of radar scattering characteristics is very important to the development of radar detection technology on aircraft wake vortices. In this paper, the high range resolution (HRR) profile of the wake vortex is investigated. The HRR profile is observed to have a particular structure, from which the wingspan of the aircraft can be easily ...

High Range Resolution Profile Estimation via a Cognitive Stepped Frequency Technique
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2019The problem of high range resolution profile (HRRP) estimation is considered in this paper. In particular, stepped frequency waveforms are devised to enhance the target range profile (RP) estimation accuracy. The basic idea relies on the dynamic optimization of the probing waveform accounting for some feedback information to minimize the profile ...

Target Motion and High Range Resolution Profile Generation
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 2012The problem of forming high range resolution (HRR) profiles from radar data of moving targetsis considered. HRR profiles can result from processing range-Doppler images of targets, whereby the 2-D range-Doppler image is collapsed into a 1-D range profile.

The resolution of high resolution range profile for two ideal point targets
2012 IEEE International Conference on Information Science and Technology, 2012The resolution is an important concept in radar. Based on the mathematic model of high resolution range profile (HRRP), this paper investigates the resolution of HRRP for two ideal point targets. Theoretical analyses indicate that two ideal point targets can always be resolved in HRRP once they are separated by a distance larger than 1.7∗c/(2B), where ...

High-resolution range profile reconstruction method for terahertz FMCW radar
Applied Optics, 2021Terahertz (THz) testing, by the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) system, is often hampered by the limited range resolution. Thus, in this paper, a software method is proposed to reconstruct the range profile, yielding significant improvements in range resolution and in signal parameter extraction.

On variability in high resolution range profiles
2013 International Conference on Radar, 2013Radar target classification often uses feature sets derived from high range resolution profiles as an input to a classifier. However, rage profiles typically exhibit variability that is subsequently passed on to the feature vectors used in classification.

Scatterer stability in high range resolution profiles
2013 IEEE Radar Conference (RadarCon13), 2013Radar target classification typically uses feature sets derived from high range resolution profiles as an input to a classifier. However, such feature sets, when projected in feature space, show both substantial overlap for different targets and substantial variability for a single target. This results in degraded classification performance, as targets
