Middle Caddoan Period Archaeology in the Upper Sulphur River Basin [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Middle Caddoan period archaeological sites in the upper Sulphur River basin are rare, by contrast with the lower Sulphur River area, and probably the best-known site of this age in the upper part of the basin is the Hurricane Hill site (41HP106).

The Indoor Mobile Coverage Problem Using UAVs

open access: yes, 2017
Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) can be used as aerial wireless base stations when cellular networks are not operational due to natural disasters. They can also be used to supplement the ground base station in order to provide better coverage and higher ...

CD9‐association with PIP2 areas is regulated by a CD9 salt bridge

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tetraspanin CD9 has an intracellular salt bridge. If CD9 opens, open‐CD9 moves from PIP2‐rich areas to regions populated by its interaction partner EWI‐2. Hence, the state of the salt bridge regulates the distribution of CD9 and by this CD9‐EWI‐2 complex formation.

Teaching Python with team‐based learning: using cloud‐based notebooks for interactive coding education

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel approach to teaching Python and bioinformatics using team‐based learning and cloud‐hosted notebooks. By integrating interactive coding into biomedical education, the method improves accessibility, student engagement, and confidence—especially for those without a computing background.

Stromagenesis and cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity in primary tumors and metastasis: focus in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) play different roles in NSCLC progression and metastasis. Their heterogeneous origins and phenotypes shape the tumor microenvironment and influence metastatic spread. This review highlights NSCLC CAF subtypes, their potential cellular sources, and their differential distribution across primary tumors and distant ...

Multiparton scattering at the LHC [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The large parton flux at high energy gives rise to events where different pairs of partons interact contemporarily with large momentum exchange. A main effect of multiple parton interactions is to generate events with many jets at relatively large ...

Transcriptional regulation of neuropeptide receptors underlies context‐dependent adaptation in Drosophila melanogaster

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Under environmental changes, the expression level of neuropeptide (NP) and neuropeptide receptor (NPR) genes changes to confer context‐dependent adaptation to the model organism Drosophila melanogaster. Through finding more regulatory elements in the NPR genes in comparison with their ligands (NPs), we found that NPR‐biased transcriptional regulation ...
