AbstractOver the last decade spectro‐polarimetry evolved to ever higher sensitivity levels. New techniques and instruments allow us to address weak polarization signals, which are caused by scattering in the solar atmosphere. In this paper a review on the development of spectro‐polarimetric investigations of scattering physics and its coupling to the ...

A high sensitivity polarimeter
Optics Communications, 1975Abstract A photoelectric polarimeter is described which works by the synchronous detection of light signals modulated by a rotating polarizer. Experiments are performed which show how the instrument is suited for measuring both very faint fluxes of polarized light, and light with a small degree of polarization, i.e. up to 10-4.

In the Namib Desert, a very particular tree by the name of Welwitschia mirabilis grows. Its Afrikaansʼ vernacular name is Tweeblaarkanniedood which translates as “Two leaves, canʼt die”. Itʼs a living fossil, a survivor from primeval times, reaching only about one metre in height ...

A high sensitivity semiconductor strain sensitive circuit
Solid-State Electronics, 1975Abstract The application of the piezoresistive strain sensitivity of MOS transistors to a high sensitivity strain sensor is described. The basic physical mechanism involved is thought to be the variation of mobility of the charge carriers, which gives rise to a change in the gain factor, β, of the device.

Sensory processing sensitivity. Identification of high sensitivity
2021Sensory processing sensitivity has been determined as a personality trait featured by the perception, processing, and interpretation of internal and external stimuli. Thus, this trait has been considered by some recent research studies from different frameworks.
