A concept for an innovative high-temperature heat pump

Energy, 1987
Abstract Concepts for an innovative high-temperature heat pump are described. The preferred concept is a high-temperature analog to the familiar vapor-compression cycle. This concept is innovative in that a solid-state component, beta-alumina solid electrolyte (or BASE), is used to perform the compression function.

High‐Temperature Heat Pumps for Industrial Use

Chemie Ingenieur Technik
Abstract Compared to heat pumps established in the building sector, high‐temperature heat pumps (HTHPs) suitable for industrial use still face challenges, not only from a mechanical engineering point of view but also regarding integration into existing processes. They need to supply larger amounts of heat at higher temperatures.

A High Temperature Heat Pump With Methanol/Water Absorption

Advanced Energy Systems, 1996
Abstract The high temperature lift heat pumps required in many technical applications can not be achieved by conventional single stage absorption units. In recent years as solution of this problem have been proposed the multistage absorption cycles with many heat exchange units, control devices and a higher capital expenditure.

Selection of working fluids for high-temperature heat pumps

Energy, 1995
Abstract Criteria are described for working fluids in high-temperature heat pumps (HTHPs). Hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) and hydrofluorinated ethers (HFEs) are being considered as working substances for HTHPs. Comparisons are made in terms of ecological and thermophysical properties for working fluids. Three HCFCs (R-123,

HIGH-TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMP TRANSFORMER

1992
A high-temperature heat pump transformer (10) has a feed line branch (14) and a return line branch (24) which are connected, via pumps (32; 34; 36) or at least one choke element (26), a desorber (12) and a resorber (18) operated at a higher pressure than the latter, to a solution circuit through which a two-component working fluid flows.

Absorption heat pumps for high and very high temperatures

1990
