High-temperature oxidation (HTO) of metals and alloys is a scale-forming oxidation process in gaseous environments. HTO is influenced by metal temperature, gas composition, exposure time, and pressure, and it may be characterized by weight gain, thickness reduction (penetration), and rate of oxide thickness growth, which is a measure of the rate of ...

High-pressure and high-temperature studies on oxide garnets
Physical Review B, 1996We report high-pressure and high-temperature studies on a series of oxide garnets of chemical composition ${A}_{3}{B}_{2}{C}_{3}{\mathrm{O}}_{12}$. The members of this family investigated are gadolinium scandium gallium garnet (GSGG), gadolinium gallium garnet (GGG), and yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG).

High temperature oxidation of Co-Mn alloys
Corrosion Science, 1979Abstract The oxidation of cobalt-manganese alloys in the range 0–45 wt%Mn corresponding to the stability of the α-phase of cobalt has been studied in the range 750–950°C as an example of binary alloys producing solid solution scales. The alloys oxidize according to a parabolic rate law with a rate constant intermediate between those of the pure ...

High-Temperature Oxidation-Resistant ZrN0.4B0.6/SiC Nanohybrid for Enhanced Microwave Absorption.
ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, 2019Most microwave absorbers lose their function under harsh working conditions, such as a high temperature and an oxidative environment. Here, we developed a heterogeneous ZrN0.4B0.6/SiC nanohybrid via combined catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CCVD) and

Dimensionality of high temperature superconductivity in oxides
Physica Scripta, 1989Many models have been proposed to account for the high temperature superconductivity observed in oxide systems. Almost all of these models proposed are based on the uncoupled low dimensional carrier Cu-O layers of the oxides. Results of several experiments are presented and discussed.

The high-temperature oxidation of aldehydes
Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1971Studies of the oxidation of aldehydes have given the velocity constants k1=0.013 and 0.076 liter mole−1 sec−1 for HCHO and C2H5CHO, respectively, and k4=1.36×106, 1.82×106, 2.41×106 liter mole−1 sec−1, for HCHO, C2H5CHO, and n-C3H7CHO, respectively, at 440°C, on the assumption that k5=1.8×109. These are preliminary values which may be modified slightly

Effects of Al and Mo on high temperature oxidation behavior of refractory high entropy alloys
Transactions of Nonferrous Metals Society of China, 2019Refractory high entropy alloys have superior mechanical properties at high temperatures, and the oxidation behavior of these alloys is very important. The present work investigated the high temperature oxidation behavior of three alloys with compositions
