High-temperature oxidation of copper

Russian Chemical Reviews, 2013
Data on the kinetics and thermodynamics of high-temperature oxidation of copper are generalized. The attention is focused on the catastrophic oxidation of copper contacting some low-melting oxides. The results of experimental and theoretical studies of the last 10 years concerning the catastrophic oxidation of copper are analyzed.

High-temperature oxidation of ZrAl

Journal of the Less Common Metals, 1988
Abstract The oxidation of ZrAl in dry oxygen in the temperature range 800–1100 K follows a parabolic rate law. An activation energy of 86.4 kJ mol−1 was estimated. During the oxidation, aluminium diffuses from the oxide layer to the ZrAl bulk, thus forming a ZrAl2 phase very close to the oxide-alloy interface.

The high temperature oxidation of butadiene

Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1985
1,3-Butadiene oxidation and pyrolysis at approximately 1100 K were studied by obtaining species profiles in a chemical kinetic flow reactor. The mechanism postulated for the oxidation of butadiene is based on the intermediate species observed, their relative order of maximum concentration, some assumptions about the high temperature reactions of ...

Oxidation of copper at high temperatures

Oxidation of Metals, 1971
The kinetics and mechanism of copper oxidation have been measured over the temperature range 900–1050°C and the pressure range 5×10−3 to 8×10−1 atm. It has been shown that, at the pressures lower than the dissociation pressure of CuO, the oxide scale formed on flat fragments of the copper specimens is compact and composed of a single layer, adhering ...

Comparative study of high temperature oxidation behavior and mechanical properties of wire arc sprayed Ni Cr and Ni Al coatings

, 2019
In the present investigation, Ni 20Cr and Ni 5Al wires were used to deposit coatings on T22 and SA516 boiler steels for protection in high temperature environment.

High-Temperature Gaseous Oxidation

2009
So far this text has considered the corrosion of metals or alloys in aqueous environments. However, when a metal or alloy is exposed to an oxidizing gas, corrosion may occur in the absence of an electrolyte, especially at high temperatures. This phenomenon is sometimes called “dry corrosion” as opposed to “wet corrosion” which occurs in the presence of

Hydrocarbon Oxidation at High Temperatures

Berichte der Bunsengesellschaft für physikalische Chemie, 1983
AbstractThe detailed knowledge of combustion mechanisms is important, for example for the control of (kinetically determined) pollutant formation (e.g. NO, hydrocarbons, soot), for ignition problems, or for the extrapolation to technologically important but experimentally inaccessible condition.

High Temperature Oxidation of Ammonia

Combustion Science and Technology, 1972
Abstract Results are given for ignition delays of ammonia-oxygen-argon mixtures after shock heating to temperatures between 1570 and 2460 °K. Three pressure regions were used (0.2 to 0.3, 3.3 to 5.3 and 27.2 to 44.4 atm). Absorption spectroscopy showed the presence of NH, OH and NO before explosion.
