High Time Resolution with LOFAR
LOFAR achieves high time resolution (< 1 s samples) using its various beam-formed modes. These modes are vital for observations of pulsars, fast radio transients, the Sun, (exo)planets, flare stars and dynamic spectra of scintillating sources—to name a few examples.

High-resolution optogenetics in space and time
Trends in Neurosciences, 2022To understand the neural mechanisms of behavior, it is necessary to both monitor and perturb the activity of ensembles of neurons with high specificity. While neural ensemble recordings have been available for decades, progress in high-resolution manipulation techniques has lagged behind. Optogenetics has enabled the manipulation of genetically defined

Timing system for high resolution time spectroscopy
Nuclear Instruments and Methods, 1972Abstract A timing system working with plastic scintillation counters is described. It gives the best time resolution of 130 ps and 195 ps for 20% and 90% windows, respectively, at 60 Co Compton spectra, using NE 111 scintillators and XP 1021 photomultipliers.

A Study of High-Resolution Timing
IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 1976This correspondence describes an experimental comparison of timing information provided by a large multiprogramming operating system (OS/360 MVT) with timing information derived directly from a high-resolution hardware clock. The hardware clock was found to be a superior source of timing information.
