High time resolution ultrasonic velocity profiler

Experimental Thermal and Fluid Science, 2002
Abstract The objective of the present study is to develop a high time resolution ultrasonic velocity profiler (UVP) system by improving a signal processing and apply it to turbulent flow. The UVP system is able to obtain one-dimensional velocity distribution on an ultrasonic beam line from echo signals reflected at tracer particles.

Time-frequency structure of the high-resolution ECG

Journal of Electrocardiology, 1994
This study considers the problem of representing high-resolution ECG (HRECG) signals in the time-frequency plane using spectrotemporal mapping (STM). High-resolution ECG signal components overlap in both time and frequency. The central issue with STM techniques is whether sufficient time-frequency resolution exists to discriminate normal and abnormal ...

High Resolution Stereo in Real Time

2008
Efficient stereo matching algorithms search for corresponding points along the epipolar lines defined by the camera properties and configuration. In real cameras, lens distortions and misaligned cameras lead to sloping curved epipolar lines on the raw images.

A note on high resolution timing

ACM SIGMETRICS Performance Evaluation Review, 1974
The ability to accurately time the execution of sequences of machine instructions is an important tool in the tuning and evaluation of computer hardware and software. The complexity of modern hardware and software systems often makes accurate timing information difficult to obtain [1].

A Study of High-Resolution Timing

IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, 1976
This correspondence describes an experimental comparison of timing information provided by a large multiprogramming operating system (OS/360 MVT) with timing information derived directly from a high-resolution hardware clock. The hardware clock was found to be a superior source of timing information.

High resolution time-of-flight spectrometry

Physica Scripta, 1997
Resolution of time-of-flight spectrometers is limited by the temporal distribution of analyzed ions at the detector. The major sources of this temporal distribution are the initial temporal, spatial, and velocity distributions of the ions. Details of how these initial distributions affect resolution is discussed, along with techniques to improve ...

High-Resolution Timing Measurement System

2002
A high-resolution time interval measurement system, with picosecond accuracy, for diagnosis the timing behavior of digital logic circuits is proposed. It uses time interval measurement principle and statistical approach for experimental data analysis. Metastability measurement method, using the time search approach in provoking metastable behavior is ...

High time resolution electrostatic electron analyzer

Review of Scientific Instruments, 1974
A gridded electrostatic electron energy analyzer is described which has been used successfully to time resolve trapped electron distributions at 200 MHz in a beam plasma device. Examples of raw data and extracted phase space plots are presented.
