The energetic offset between the donor and the acceptor components in organic photoactive layers is central to the tradeoff between photovoltage and photocurrent losses. This Perspective covers the most important issues surrounding this topic in non‐fullerene acceptor blends, from the difficulty of accurately determining state energies and driving ...

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Determination of high voltage circuit-breaker breaking capability in case of generator short-circuit currents with delayed zero crossings [PDF]

Rethinking Charge Transport and Recombination in Donor‐Diluted Organic Solar Cells
Organic solar cells with 1–45% PM6 content in Y12 were studied to link structure and charge dynamics to performance. The conductivity follows a 3D percolation model without a sharp threshold. Donor dilution preserves the photogeneration yield, but limits the fill factor due to transport resistance losses.

Continuous Health State Monitoring of High-Voltage Circuit Breakers
Circuit breakers (CBs) are renowned for their high reliability and long lifespan. As a result, many CBs installed decades ago are now approaching their predefined end of service life. However, this predefined service life does not always reflect the actual condition, as some may still be far from reaching their true end-of-life, depending on their ...

Assessing of circuit breaker restrike risks using computer simulation and wavelet analysis [PDF]
A breaker restrike is an abnormal arcing phenomenon, leading to a possible breaker failure. Eventually, this failure leads to interruption of the transmission and distribution of the electricity supply system until the breaker is replaced.
