Efect of high voltage electric field on food grade papain

open access: yesRevista Mexicana de Ingeniería Química, 2016
In this study, the enzyme papain was treated under different conditions of High Voltage Electric Field (HVEF), where three main factors were varied: frequency (0, 180 and 360 Hz), electric field strength (1, 5, and 9 kV / cm), and processing time (10, 20 and 30 minutes).

High Voltage Pulse Generator for Pulsed Electric Field Treatments

open access: yes2019 3rd International Symposium on Multidisciplinary Studies and Innovative Technologies (ISMSIT), 2019
In food processing, biotechnology and medicine, pulsed electric field (PEF) applications are used in studies on increasing the permeability of the cell membrane or inactivation of microorganisms. PEF applications require high voltage pulse generators. PEF generators are designed depending on the application types.

In vitro and in silico modelling of ROS1‐positive non‐small cell lung cancer reveals fusion‐dependent tyrosine kinase inhibitor responses

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Drug resistance limits treatment success in a subset of lung cancers driven by ROS1 gene alterations. Using patient‐derived cells and computer simulations, we studied three key mutations and how they affect five targeted drugs. The mutations reduced drug effectiveness in different ways by altering protein structure and behavior.
