ACCIDENTS ON HIGH VOLTAGE POWER LINES

Electric transmission lines differ according to the probability of accidents occurring in them according to the voltage class they belong to. Thus, the vast majority of accidents that occur in 10/6 kV power transmission lines are caused by leakages in transition insulators of line wires at transformer stations and accidental contact of tree branches ...

High-voltage power line communication system for hybrid vehicle

2015 IEEE International Symposium on Power Line Communications and Its Applications (ISPLC), 2015
Recently, hybrid vehicles (HVs) have become widespread. In the current HVs, a high-voltage (200 V) battery supplies power to the Power Control Unit (PCU) for driving a motor, generator and air conditioner compressor. It is expected that such kinds of power electronic devices will increase in number in the future.

Impact of high-voltage power transmission lines on photovoltaic power production

Solar Energy, 2018
Abstract One important issue not reported in the literature is to determine the impact of a high-voltage (HV) power transmission line on the power production of a photovoltaic (PV) module located near the power transmission line. Since grid-connected PV power generation systems are generally located near HV power transmission lines, this issue ...

Standardization issues of Digital Power Line Communication over high voltage lines

2007 IEEE International Symposium on Power Line Communications and Its Applications, 2007
Due to the present lack of a product standard for Digital PLC terminals communicating over high voltage power lines, the question arises how the existing standard IEC60495 "Single sideband power line carrier terminals" should be interpreted suitably for digital and mixed analog/digital PLC terminals such that coexistence with analog and digital PLC ...

Current load in a high voltage power transmission line

Electric Power Systems Research, 1991
Abstract A physical model is given in the present work for determining the maximum current load and thermal response in a high voltage power transmission line. The model is based on all major heat transfer mechanisms occurring in the conductor in a natural environment. To verify the model, its predictions are compared with experimental data.
