A portable instrument for the volume measurement of high-frequency percussive ventilators

2010
In recent years, the usefulness of High Frequency Percussive Ventilation (HFPV) has been clinically valued as a suitable alternative to conventional mechanical ventilation especially in particularly conditions (for example in pulmonary resection [1]). It acquires the flow with a sampling rate of 2 KHz, computes the volume every 64 samples by numerical ...

Variation in the advanced fiber information system cotton fiber length-by-number distribution captured by high volume instrument fiber length parameters

Textile Research Journal, 2017
Variation in cotton fiber length impacts processability at the mill and the quality of spun yarns. The High Volume Instrument (HVI) and Advanced Fiber Information System (AFIS) are cotton fiber quality assessment instruments able to quickly assess a myriad of fiber quality characteristics.

The Effect of Gin Machinery on Measurement of High Volume Instrument Color and Trash of Cotton

Transactions of the ASAE, 1994
Adoption of the high volume instrument (HVI) classification system for the official marketing criteria for cotton coupled with the separation of color and trash into different grade components requires that ginners and producers be knowledgeable of the impact of gin equipment on color and trash.

High Volume Instrument and Glucose Analysis of Acid Treated, Rinsed, and/or Heated and Autoclaved Cotton Fibers

Clothing and Textiles Research Journal, 2004
Cottons contaminated with stickiness from physiological and/or entomological sugars cause multiple processing problems in textile mills. Textile mills request cotton with no stickiness or need methods to remove stickiness and consequently avoid processing problems.

Evidence and potential explanation of the influence of fiber length on the High Volume Instrument measurement of cotton fiber strength

Textile Research Journal, 2013
This study explores the influence of cotton fiber length characteristics on the High Volume Instrument (HVI) strength measurement. A set of cotton samples cut at different lengths from a common parent sliver was used. HVI strength data exhibited a consistent trend as a function of the fiber length properties.

ABCD Model for Prioritizing Calibration of Measuring Instruments in Industrial Environments with High Equipment Volume

Accurate and regular calibration of measuring instruments plays a vital role in maintaining product quality and the safety of industrial processes. In busy workshops, prioritizing the calibration of instruments is of great importance. This paper presents a simple and practical model named ABCD, which categorizes measuring instruments into four groups ...
