Mirror symmetry of higher order aberrations between right and left eyes
Introduction: There is evidence that certain measures of visual function show some type of relationship between right and left eyes in the same individual.

Structural and biochemical analysis of a B12 superbinder
BtuG proteins are vitamin B12 scavengers in Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron, a dominant human gut bacterium. We present crystal structures of three BtuG homologs bound to cobalamin and its precursor cobinamide, revealing picomolar binding affinities, among the highest known for any natural protein.

Mycobacterial 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA carboxylase uses a mobile biotin‐carrying domain to shuttle a carboxyl group between two catalytic sites, enabling carboxylation of 3‐methylcrotonyl‐CoA during leucine breakdown. Cryo‐electron microscopy captures the carrier at both sites and reveals an inward loop movement that may prevent futile rebinding to the ...

Peripheral higher order aberrations in emmetropes and myopes [PDF]
Purpose: Poor image quality in the peripheral field may lead to myopia. Most studies measuring the higher order aberrations in the periphery have been restricted to the horizontal visual field.

The Shewanella oneidensis Fic enzyme SoFic targets the switch‐I region of EF‐Tu for AMPylation
Fic enzymes mediate diverse post‐translational modifications across all domains of life, including AMPylation. Prokaryotic EF‐Tu can be AMPylated and deAMPylated by the conserved Fic enzyme SoFic. Structural and biochemical approaches were used to characterize the effect of AMPylation on EF‐Tu, SoFic's enzymatic activities, and the enzyme‐target ...

Ocular higher order aberrations: A comparison between myopes and emmetropes
AIM: The aim of the study was to study and compare the higher-order aberrations (HOAs) in myopes and emmetropes. SUBJECTS AND METHODS: This study was done as a cross-sectional, comparative study consisting of 288 myopic eyes and 322 emmetropic eyes yes ...

Higher order aberrations in keratoconus
This paper describes the challenges in measuring and correcting the optical aberrations in keratoconic eyes, and reviews what has been learned from studies investigating the use of aberration-controlling contact lenses in keratoconus. At present the idea of aberration-controlling contact lenses is plausible.

THEORY OF HIGHER ORDER CHROMATIC ABERRATIONS
In this article, we discuss the changes of the coordinates of the pupil and the object plane caused by the Seidel aberrations of the front groups in the optical system, and also the effect of these changes on the chromatic aberrations of the back groups, i.e., the theory of derivative higher order chromatic aberrations.

HIGHER-ORDER ABERRATIONS IN EYES WITH SILICONE OIL TAMPONADE
Purpose: To investigate the changes in higher-order aberrations (HOAs) after silicone oil removal and to evaluate their associations with visual acuity. Methods: Fifty-nine eyes of 58 patients who underwent SO removal were included.
