Higher-order ratios of baryon number cumulants [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2012
Abstract The relevance of higher order cumulants of net baryon number fluctuations for the analysis of freeze-out and critical conditions in heavy-ion collisions at LHC and RHIC is addressed. The sign structure of the higher order cumulants in the vicinity of the chiral crossover temperature might be a sensitive probe and may allow to ...

An exciting Approach to Theoretical Spectroscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Theoretical spectroscopy, and more generally, electronic‐structure theory, are powerful concepts for describing the complex many‐body interactions in materials. They cover methods from ground‐state properties to lattice excitations and light‐matter interaction, including time‐resolved variants.

Automation and Active Learning for the Multi‐Objective Optimization of Antibody Formulations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Successful antibody formulation necessitates balancing factors such as thermal stability, colloidal stability, and viscosity across a vast excipient design space. This work integrates robotic liquid handling, high‐throughput biophysical characterization, and multi‐objective Bayesian optimization in an iterative closed‐loop Design‐Build‐Test‐Learn cycle.

Process Optimization of Solution Blow Spinning for Poly (N‐Isopropylacrylamide) Fibers

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Solution blow spinning has emerged as a safe and scalable technique for fabricating thermoresponsive PNIPAM fibers. The influence of key parameters on jet stability and fiber uniformity is determined through both rheological analysis and statistical process optimization. A Box–Behnken design reveals an optimized window for producing PNIPAM fibers below

Effective Channel Order Determination Algorithm for Convolutive Blind Channel Identification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2019
Effective channel order determination is an important problem in convolutive blind channel identification. The classical techniques are based on information theoretic criteria, which show a great potentiality to estimate the effective channel order ...

PERFECTA Loaded Lipid Cubosomes for 19F‐MRI: Physico‐Chemical Characterization

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Phytantriol‐based cubosomes loaded with PERFCTA, a fluorinated MRI probe, were developed as promising systems for imaging and drug delivery. The nanoparticles showed high PERFECTA encapsulation efficiency, strong fluorine MRI signals, and optimal colloidal stability in biological media.

Application of Higher Order Cumulants for Seismic Wavelet Reconstruction

open access: yesData Science Journal, 2007
According to the fact that high order cumulants (HOC) retain the phase information of signals and the HOC of the Gaussian color noise is always equal to zero, a new method of wavelet reconstruction is provided in this paper, based on 4th-order cumulants of non-Gaussian seismic signals. The feasibility of this method is demonstrated by the simulation of

Causal Discovery with Latent Confounders Based on Higher-Order Cumulants

open access: yesCoRR, 2023
Causal discovery with latent confounders is an important but challenging task in many scientific areas. Despite the success of some overcomplete independent component analysis (OICA) based methods in certain domains, they are computationally expensive and can easily get stuck into local optima.

Fibrilpaint: A Class of Amyloid‐Targeting Peptides

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
FibrilPaints are modular peptides engineered to recognize amyloid fibrils. By systematically varying charge, sequence, and termini, their binding behavior can be tuned while retaining recognition. Successful binding ″paints″ fibrils for visualization and opens routes toward targeted degradation and diagnostic applications.
