Analog circuit fault diagnosis using higher order cumulants

2009 9th International Conference on Electronic Measurement & Instruments, 2009
An approach to analog circuit fault diagnosis using higher order cumulants (HOC) is described in this paper. Our system used a harmonic signal to excite the circuit under test (CUT), and then the response was putted into a Butterworth filter bank. For each subband filter, the output sequence was analyzed by higher order cumulants. Skewness, a 1-D slice

Improved Speech Enhancement Based on Higher Order Cumulants

2013 Ninth International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, 2013
A new speech enhancement scheme based on higher order cumulants (HOC) is proposed. Under the condition of Gaussian noise, a method for estimating the probability of speech absence in each frequency bin of each frame is devised based on HOC. Further, a kind of modified Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) estimator based on HOC is proposed.

Weak convergence using higher-order cumulants

Journal of Theoretical Probability, 1992
Let \(c_ j(F)\) denote the \(j\)-th cumulant of the distribution function \(F\). The main result of the paper can be formulated as follows. Let \(\{F_ n\}\) be a sequence of distribution functions and let \(F\) be a distribution function which is specified by its higher-order cumulants (this notion is defined in the appropriate way, similar as in the ...

A bibliography of higher-order spectra and cumulants

IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, 1994
The interest in higher-order spectra and cumulants was renewed in the early 1980s due, in part, to the need to solve detection, estimation, and identification problems when the interfering noise source was non-Gaussian. The bibliography is a list of refereed journal papers.

Two player statistical game with higher order cumulants

Proceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010
In statistical game, multiple players optimize the distributions of the objective functions through the cost cumulants. This paper extends the use of second, third, and fourth cumulants for stochastic Nash games. For the case of linear system with quadratic cost, the equilibrium solutions are determined.

Cumulative Higher-Order Logic as a Foundation for Set Theory

MLQ, 2000
The authors study systems \(K(\alpha)\) of transfinite cumulative types, where the types consist of ordinals less than \(\alpha\) and there is an implicit comprehension principle (because of the presence of lambda terms). (My notation here and below differs inessentially from the authors.) Let \(K\# (\alpha)\) denote the corresponding non-cumulative ...

Higher-order cumulants based maneuver detection in Kalman filter

2002 IEEE Region 10 Conference on Computers, Communications, Control and Power Engineering. TENCOM '02. Proceedings., 2003
Maneuver detection is a key issue in multiple-model target tracking applications. In the Kalman filter, the conventional maneuver detection algorithm fails when the maneuver is almost buried in noise. The multiresolution approach behaves well for maneuver detection, but the time delay limits its application.

FIR system identification based on higher-order cyclic cumulants

Proceedings of 1997 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems. Circuits and Systems in the Information Age ISCAS '97, 2002
This paper focuses on nonminimum phase FIR system identification using higher-order cyclic cumulants alone, and proposes two linear normal equation algorithms for parameter estimation and SVD-based order determination methods. The system unidentifiable from second-order cyclostationary statistics are shown to be identifiable using the proposed higher ...
