A bibliography of higher-order spectra and cumulants
IEEE Signal Processing Magazine, 1994The interest in higher-order spectra and cumulants was renewed in the early 1980s due, in part, to the need to solve detection, estimation, and identification problems when the interfering noise source was non-Gaussian. The bibliography is a list of refereed journal papers.

An approach to surface EMG decomposition based on higher-order cumulants
Computer Methods and Programs in Biomedicine, 2005We are addressing a possible approach to the decomposition of surface electromyograms (SEMGs). It is based on higher-order cumulants implemented in a two-step procedure. Firstly, a multivariate version of the w-slice method is applied in order to extract coarse approximations of motor-unit action potentials (MUAPs) out of the measured SEMGs.

Improved Speech Enhancement Based on Higher Order Cumulants
2013 Ninth International Conference on Intelligent Information Hiding and Multimedia Signal Processing, 2013A new speech enhancement scheme based on higher order cumulants (HOC) is proposed. Under the condition of Gaussian noise, a method for estimating the probability of speech absence in each frequency bin of each frame is devised based on HOC. Further, a kind of modified Minimum Mean Square Error (MMSE) estimator based on HOC is proposed.

Higher-Order Correlations and Cumulants
2010Recent advances in electrophysiological and imaging techniques have highlighted the need for correlation measures that go beyond simple pairwise analyses. In this chapter, we discuss cumulant correlations as natural and intuitive higher-order generalizations of the covariance.

Two player statistical game with higher order cumulants
Proceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010In statistical game, multiple players optimize the distributions of the objective functions through the cost cumulants. This paper extends the use of second, third, and fourth cumulants for stochastic Nash games. For the case of linear system with quadratic cost, the equilibrium solutions are determined.

Non-gaussian ARMA identification via higher order cumulant
Signal Processing, 1993Abstract Combining the conceptual breakthrough of minimum entropy deconvolution (MED) with higher order statistics (HOS), we present an extension algorithm of a two-step procedure to identify nonminimum phase system (NMPS). The fourth order cumulants of the observed data, rather than the innovation sequence, are used to resolve the true zero location

Blind equalization using higher order cumulants and neural network
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1994The paper develops a new method to achieve blind equalization in digital communication for linear finite impulse response (FIR) systems, whether the systems are minimum phase or not. This new approach divides the problem into two parts. First, it employs the characteristic of the linear system to estimate the original channel based on the fourth-order ...
