Higher Order Cumulants for Identification and Equalization of Multicarrier Spreading Spectrum Systems

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2023
This paper describes two blind algorithms for multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) system equalization. In order to identify, blindly, the impulse response of two practical selective frequency fading channels called broadband radio ...

Estimating X¯ Statistical Control Limits for Any Arbitrary Probability Distribution Using Re-Expressed Truncated Cumulants

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
Shewhart X¯ control charts commonly used for monitoring the mean of a process may be inaccurate or perform poorly when the subgroup size is small or the distribution of the process variable is skewed.

Higher-order Multi-cumulant Factor Analysis

open access: greenSSRN Electronic Journal, 2021
We estimate the latent factors driving the non-normal dependence in high dimensional panel data using Higher-order multi-cumulant Factor Analysis (HFA). This new approach consists of an eigenvalue ratio test to select the number of non-Gaussian factors, and uses alternating regressions to estimate both the Gaussian and non-Gaussian factors.

An array virtual extension method for power equipment acoustic emission direction of arrival estimation based on high‐order cumulants

open access: yesHigh Voltage, 2021
The performance of array‐based power equipment acoustic emission (AE) source directional of arrival (DOA) estimation methods is decided by not only algorithm performance, but also the array hardware parameters, that is, array aperture, sensor number, and

Underground signal recognition method based on higher-order cumulants and DNN model

open access: yesGong-kuang zidonghua, 2020
In view of complex and heterogeneous wireless environment of mine, an underground signal recognition method based on higher-order cumulants and DNN model was proposed to realize automatic modulation recognition of underground digital signals of BPSK ...

Effect of dephasing on the current statistics of mesoscopic devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We investigate the effects of dephasing on the current statistics of mesoscopic conductors with a recently developed statistical model, focusing in particular on mesoscopic cavities and Aharonov-Bohm rings.

Volume fluctuation and multiplicity correlation in higher-order cumulants [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review C, 2019
Initial volume fluctuation (VF) arising from the participant fluctuation would be the background which should be subtracted experimentally from the measured higher-order cumulants. We study the validity of the Volume Fluctuation Correction (VFC) on higher-order net-proton cumulants by using simple toy model and UrQMD model in Au+Au collisions at \sqrt ...

Simulation-Informed Evaluation of Microvascular Parameter Mapping for Diffusion MR Imaging of Solid Tumours. [PDF]

open access: yesMagn Reson Med
ABSTRACT Purpose We aim to inform the design of new diffusion MRI (dMRI) approaches for microvasculature quantification that enhance the biological specificity of imaging towards cancer. Methods We adopted simulation‐informed modelling of the vascular dMRI signal. We synthesised signals from 1500 synthetic vascular networks, for a variety of protocols (

Blind Identification and Equalization of MC-CDMA Systems Using Higher Order Cumulants

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advances in Telecommunications, Electrotechnics, Signals and Systems, 2014
In this work we propose an algorithm based on fourth order cumulants for identification of the linear system (Finite- Impulse Response (FIR)) with Non Minimum Phase (NMP) excited by non-Gaussian sequences, independent identically distributed (i.i.d).
