Linear Causal Disentanglement via Higher-Order Cumulants

open access: yesLa Matematica
Abstract Linear causal disentanglement (LCD) is a recent method in causal representation learning to describe a collection of observed variables via latent variables with causal dependencies between them. It can be viewed as a generalization of both independent component analysis and linear structural equation models.

Competition Between Liquid‐Liquid Crystalline Phase Separation (LLCPS) and Liquid‐Liquid Phase Separation (LLPS) in Amyloid Fibril Colloidal Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study shows that amyloid fibrils form nematic condensates via liquid–liquid crystalline phase separation (LLCPS). With increasing pH, this transition shifts toward disordered condensates formed through liquid–liquid phase separation (LLPS), in which birefringence with lack of a coherent nematic field symmetry originates from enthalpic fibril ...

Effect of limited statistics on higher order cumulants measurement in heavy-ion collision experiments

open access: yes, 2018
We have studied the effect of limited statistics of data on measurement of the different order of cumulants of net-proton distribution assuming that the proton and antiproton distributions follow Possionian and Binomial distributions with initial ...

Pion interferometry with higher-order cumulants

open access: yes, 1996
We have measured second- and third-order cumulants in UA1 data ($\bar pp$ collisions at 630 GeV/c). Rather than quoting numerical values for source parameters, we have used these in three checks to test the ``quantum statistics'' theory for consistency over these cumulants.

Nanostructured Lipid Carriers Overcome the Low Immunogenicity of M2e Peptide via Surface Click Chemistry Conjugation, Improving the Anti‐M2e Antibody Response

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
1) Nanostructured lipid carriers efficiently vectorize low‐immunogenic M2e peptide. 2) M2e peptide conjugation via click chemistry preserves the peptide key epitopes. 3) Forty M2e peptides per nanoparticle are sufficient to induce robust immune responses.

Empirical estimation of realized higher-order (joint) cumulants and their practical issues [PDF]

open access: yesSeonmul yeongu
As conventional realized third and fourth (co)moments estimated with sub-period returns are biased, Neuberger (2012) and Bae and Lee (2021) develop new unbiased realized (joint) cumulants using extended information.

Statistics of voltage fluctuations in resistively shunted Josephson junctions

open access: yes, 2010
The intrinsic nonlinearity of Josephson junctions converts Gaussian current noise in the input into non-Gaussian voltage noise in the output. For a resistively shunted Josephson junction with white input noise we determine numerically exactly the ...

Quasi-gaussian fixed points and factorial cumulants in nuclear multifragmentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We re-analyze the conditions for the phenomenon of intermittency (self-similar fluctuations) to occur in models of multifragmentation. Analyzing two different mechanisms, the bond-percolation and the ERW (Elattari, Richert and Wagner) statistical ...

Exact transmission moments in one-dimensional weak localization and single-parameter scaling

open access: yes, 2003
We obtain for the first time the expressions for the mean and the variance of the transmission coefficient for an Anderson chain in the weak localization regime, using exact expansions of the complex transmission- and reflection coefficients to fourth ...

Renormalization group flows for track function moments

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2022
Track functions describe the collective effect of the fragmentation of quarks and gluons into charged hadrons, making them a key ingredient for jet substructure measurements at hadron colliders, where track-based measurements offer superior angular ...
