Terahertz Volume Plasmon‐Polariton Modulation in All‐Dielectric Hyperbolic Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
THz volume plasmon‐polariton (VPP) propagation through plasmon‐based hyperbolic metamaterials, made of alternating layers of doped and undoped III‐V semiconductors. Abstract The development of plasmonics and related applications in the terahertz range faces limitations due to the intrinsic high electron density of the standard metals.

Nash-Moser techniques for nonlinear boundary-value problems

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2003
A new linearization method is introduced for smooth short-time solvability of initial boundary value problems for nonlinear evolution equations. The technique based on an inverse function theorem of Nash-Moser type is illustrated by an application in the

Higher order turbulence closure models [PDF]

open access: yes
Theoretical models are developed and numerical studies conducted on various types of flows including both elliptic and parabolic. The purpose of this study is to find better higher order closure models for the computations of complex flows.

Higher Order Spatial Approximations for Degenerate Parabolic Stochastic Partial Differential Equations [PDF]

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Mathematical Analysis, 2013
We consider an implicit finite difference scheme on uniform grids in time and space for the Cauchy problem for a second order parabolic stochastic partial differential equation where the parabolicity condition is allowed to degenerate. Such equations arise in the nonlinear filtering theory of partially observable diffusion processes.

Enhancing Triplet Excitons Lifetime Through Controlled Intermolecular Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Singlet fission (SF) is investigated in pentacene embedded in a surface‐anchored metal–organic framework, enabling a molecular arrangement inaccessible in pure organic crystals. This architecture changes the singlet fission dynamics significantly and enhances the triplet lifetime by almost four orders of magnitude.

Three-dimensional simulation of harmonic up-conversion in a prebunched two-beam free-electron laser

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2010
Three-dimensional simulation of harmonic up-conversion in a free-electron laser amplifier operating simultaneously with two cold and relativistic electron beams with different energy is presented in the steady-state regime.

Electroluminescence and Franz–Keldysh Modulation Observed in Sn/Ge Multi‐Quantum Wells

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
We investigate the optoelectronic properties of PIN diodes based on ultrathin α‐Sn/Ge multiple quantum film structures, fabricated by molecular beam epitaxy, both experimentally and theoretically. The samples exhibit a light emission spectrum in the short‐wavelength infrared range with two transitions. Furthermore, when operating as a photodetector, we

Asymptotic behavior and blow-up of solutions for a nonlocal parabolic equation with a special diffusion process

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
This paper considers a class of higher-order nonlocal parabolic equations with special coefficient. We apply the Faedo-Galerkin approximation method and cut-off technique to obtain the local solvability.

Helix Alignment, Chevrons, and Edge Dislocations in Twist‐Bend Ferroelectric Nematics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The recently discovered twist‐bend ferroelectric nematic (NTBF) is the new member of the multiferroic family, representing a fluid with an oblique helicoidal (heliconical) periodic structure of spontaneous electric polarization. The work presents a thorough exploration of the material properties of this phase, how the periodic modulation of ...

Ultrafast Nonlinear Dynamics of Indium Tin Oxide Nanocrystals Probed via Fieldoscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ultrafast nonlinear dynamics of indium tin oxide nanocrystals excited with 1 MHz, 10 fs pulses, at their localized surface plasmon frequency, and near their epsilon‐near‐zero wavelength is probed via fieldoscopy. The study demonstrates fluence‐dependent switching behavior, advancing the understanding of high‐speed optical modulation in plasmonic ...
