Benchmark calculations for higher-order parabolic equations

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1990
Benchmark solutions generated with parabolic equation (PE) models are presented for range-dependent underwater acoustic propagation problems involving both penetrable and perfectly reflecting ocean bottoms. The solution of the wide-angle PE of Claerbout [J. F. Claerbout, Fundamentals of Geophysical Data Processing (McGraw-Hill, New York, 1976), pp. 206–

Linear and semilinear higher order parabolic equations in

Nonlinear Analysis: Theory, Methods & Applications, 2012
Abstract In this paper we consider some fourth order linear and semilinear equations in R N and make a detailed study of the solvability of the Cauchy problem. For the linear equation we consider some weakly integrable potential terms, and for any 1 p ∞ prove that for a suitable family of Bessel potential spaces, H p

Blow-up for Higher-Order Parabolic, Hyperbolic, Dispersion and Schrodinger Equations

2014
The book first studies the particular self-similar singularity solutions (patterns) of the equations. This approach allows four different classes of nonlinear PDEs to be treated simultaneously to establish their striking common features. The book describes many properties of the equations and examines traditional questions of existence/nonexistence ...

Higher-order robust attractors for stochastic retarded degenerate parabolic equations

Stochastic Analysis and Applications, 2022
We study the existence, measurability and time-dependent property of pullback random attractors in the higher-order space for stochastic degenerate parabolic equations with variable delay defined on Rn.

A higher-order parabolic wave equation

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1987
A higher-order paraboliclike approximation to the wave equation is presented. An implicit finite-difference discretization of the equation is implemented and its stability is discussed. The accuracy of the treatment of wide-angle propagation is examined by comparing computed solutions with exact solutions.

HIGHER-ORDER QUASILINEAR PARABOLIC EQUATIONS WITH SINGULAR INITIAL DATA

Communications in Contemporary Mathematics, 2006
As a basic model, we study the 2mth-order quasilinear parabolic equation of diffusion-absorption type [Formula: see text] where Δm,pis the 2mth-order p-Laplacian [Formula: see text].We consider the Cauchy problem in RN× R+with arbitrary singular initial data u0≠ 0 such that u0(x) = 0 for any x ≠ 0.
