Stress Analysis of Laminated Composite and Sandwich Beams using a Novel Shear and Normal Deformation Theory

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
A novel Normal and Shear Deformation Theory (NSDT) for analysis of laminated composite and sandwich beams, taking into account shear deformation as well as normal deformation, is developed. The paper investigates flexural behaviors of thick laminated and

Hydrogels Augmented With Artificial Sweeteners can Inhibit Multidrug‐Resistant Acinetobacter baumannii Growth and Biofilm Formation While Demonstrating Safety in Pre‐Clinical Pilot Human Trials

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Using PVA–borax hydrogels as carriers for off‐the‐shelf artificial sweeteners to fight multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii. These soft, biocompatible hydrogels rapidly reduce bacterial viability within multidrug‐resistant A. baumannii biofilms by more than 99% within one hour and sustain antimicrobial activity over time, while demonstrating safety in both

Spatially Controlled Embedded Bioprinting of Prevascularized Spheroids‐Containing Biopatch Enables Functional Skin Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A spatially controlled embedded bioprinting strategy enables precise engineering of prevascularized multicellular spheroids within skin‐derived dECM bioinks. Optimized spheroid size, composition, and spacing promote vascular maturation, paracrine signaling, and tissue integration, resulting in enhanced angiogenesis, blood perfusion, and functional skin

Protein‐Polymer Dynamic Hydrogels Utilizing Native Ligand Binding for Injectable Therapeutic Delivery and 3D Printing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Dynamic nanocolloidal hydrogels were synthesized via the co‐assembly of ligand‐modified spheroidal hyperbranched poly(glycerol) (HPG) and soluble albumin nanoparticles (SANs). Co‐assembly occurred through self‐association of the HPG, as well as its interaction with SANs via native ligand binding.

The Role of Viscoelasticity in Heterogeneous Glioblastoma Stem Cell Invasion in Biomimetic 3‐Dimensional Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
The role of viscoelasticity in the invasion of heterogeneous glioblastoma stem cells (GSCs) was investigated with GSCs categorized into subgroups based on molecular profile, as Reactive, Invasive, or Constructive using viscoelastic biomimetic hyaluronan‐oxime hydrogels.

Static analysis of functionally graded porous thin-walled I-beams based on higher order shear deformation beam theory

open access: yesVietnam Journal of Mechanics
This paper presents a static analysis of functionally graded porous (FGP) thin-walled beams based on higher-order shear deformation beam theory. The material properties are assumed to vary through the thickness of the thin-wall.

Vibration suppression analysis of FGM shells with higher order shear deformation theory [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mechanics of Materials and Structures, 2009
Analytical solutions of functionally graded material (FGM) shells with embedded magnetostrictive layers are presented in this study. These magnetostrictive layers are used for vibration suppression in the functionally graded shells. Higher order shear deformation theory is employed to study the vibration suppression characteristics.

Toward Pore‐Engineered 3D‐Printed Materials for Sorption Water Harvesting, Interfacial Evaporation, and Radiative Cooling

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Water harvesting, radiative cooling, and interfacial solar evaporation are fundamentally governed by coupled heat, mass, and light transport processes. These processes are mediated by pore architecture, including pore size, connectivity, and hierarchical organization.
