Blind Identification of Convolutive MIMO Systems with 3 Sources and 2 Sensors

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2002
We address the problem of blind identification of a convolutive Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) system with more inputs than outputs, and in particular, the 3-input 2-output case.

Deep Learning Predicts Correlation between a Functional Signature of Higher Visual Areas and Sparse Firing of Neurons

open access: yesFrontiers in Computational Neuroscience, 2017
Visual information in the visual cortex is processed in a hierarchical manner. Recent studies show that higher visual areas, such as V2, V3, and V4, respond more vigorously to images with naturalistic higher-order statistics than to images lacking them ...

Underdetermined DOA estimation exploiting the higher‐order cumulants of harmonic steering vector with time‐modulated arrays

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, 2022
Time‐modulated arrays (TMAs) have been widely studied owing to their convenient control mode and simple structure. Although direction‐of‐arrival (DOA) estimation based on TMA has garnered considerable attention, underdetermined DOA estimation in TMA is ...

Higher order antibunching in intermediate states

open access: yes, 2007
Since the introduction of binomial state as an intermediate state, different intermediate states have been proposed. Different nonclassical effects have also been reported in these intermediate states.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Non-Gaussian Resistance Fluctuations in Gold-Nanoparticle-Based Gas Sensors: An Appraisal of Different Evaluation Techniques

open access: yesSensors, 2017
Volatile organic compounds, such as formaldehyde, can be used as biomarkers in human exhaled breath in order to non-invasively detect various diseases, and the same compounds are of much interest also in the context of environmental monitoring and ...

Probing higher order correlations of the photon field with photon number resolving avalanche photodiodes

open access: yes, 2011
We demonstrate the use of two high speed avalanche photodiodes in exploring higher order photon correlations. By employing the photon number resolving capability of the photodiodes the response to higher order photon coincidences can be measured.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Scale-dependent brain age with cosmological higher-order statistics from structural magnetic resonance imaging

open access: yesNeuroImage
Inferring chronological age from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) brain data has become a valuable tool for the early detection of neurodegenerative diseases. We present a method inspired by cosmological techniques for analyzing galaxy surveys, utilizing

Automatic Assessment of Pathological Voice Quality Using Higher-Order Statistics in the LPC Residual Domain

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2009
A preprocessing scheme based on linear prediction coefficient (LPC) residual is applied to higher-order statistics (HOSs) for automatic assessment of an overall pathological voice quality.
