DIFFUSION PROCESSES MODELED WITH HIGHER ORDER DIFFERENTIAL TERMS
Far East Journal of Applied Mathematics, 2018Summary: In this paper, we investigate the diffusion process called diffusion with retention. We show that, in fact, the process with retention is nothing more than the known process of diffusion with hesitation or diffusion with stay. We have also shown that the BG model is, in fact, a particular case of the Myers model for the study of thin films ...

Higher Order Terms in Extended Thermodynamics
Continuum Mechanics and Thermodynamics, 1998This paper is devoted to extended thermodynamics, i.e. the phenomenological thermodynamics where momentum and energy flux are viewed as additional dependent field variables, following a scheme introduced by I. Müller and others. In the application of this scheme general physical principles such as material objectivity and the entropy principle are duly

Abstract In the application of solitons to a long-distance communication system, various higher order terms discussed in Chapter 3 become important, and one should study the effect of these terms on soliton solutions. The higher-order terms in the envelope equation derived in Chapter 3 are of the order of smaller than 10-4.

Higher-order curvature terms and extended inflation
Physical Review D, 1990We consider higher-order curvature terms in context of the Brans-Dicke theory of gravity, and investigate the effects of these terms on extended inflationary theories. We find that the higher-order curvature terms tend to speed up inflation, although the original extended-inflation solutions are stable when these terms are small.

Umbrella integration with higher-order correction terms
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2012Umbrella integration is a method to analyze umbrella sampling simulations. It calculates free-energy changes from distributions obtained from molecular dynamics. While it can be formulated on the full sampled distributions, they are generally approximated by normal distributions. This is equivalent to the truncation of a power series of the free energy

Significant term extraction by Higher Order SVD
2009 7th International Symposium on Applied Machine Intelligence and Informatics, 2009In this paper, we present a novel method for term importance, called Tensor Term Indexing (TTI). This extracts significant terms from a document as well as a coherent collection of document set. The basic idea of this approach is to represent the whole document collection in a Term-Sentence-Document tensor and employs higher-order singular value ...

From Higher Order Terms To Circuits
1997In his lecture at the congress, the first author gave a survey on some recent results relevant for computability theory in the context of partial continuous functionals (cf. (Scott, 1982; Ershov, 1977; Stoltenberg-Hansen et al., 1994)): An abstract definition of totality due to Berger (cf.
