Quantum-Inspired Hierarchy for Rank-Constrained Optimization
Many problems in information theory can be reduced to optimizations over matrices, where the rank of the matrices is constrained. We establish a link between rank-constrained optimization and the theory of quantum entanglement.

HIGHER-RANK GRAPHS AND THEIR $C^*$-ALGEBRAS [PDF]
AbstractWe consider the higher-rank graphs introduced by Kumjian and Pask as models for higher-rank Cuntz–Krieger algebras. We describe a variant of the Cuntz–Krieger relations which applies to graphs with sources, and describe a local convexity condition which characterizes the higher-rank graphs that admit a non-trivial Cuntz–Krieger family.

THE ANALYTIC ALGEBRAS OF HIGHER RANK GRAPHS [PDF]
The authors consider a class of non-selfadjoint operator algebras arising from higher rank graphs and their norm closed subalgebras. In addition, eigenvalues, reflexivity, hyper-reflexivity and semisimplicity of the higher rank semigroupoid algebras are examined.

Kumjian-Pask algebras of higher-rank graphs [PDF]
We introduce higher-rank analogues of the Leavitt path algebras, which we call the Kumjian-Pask algebras. We prove graded and Cuntz-Krieger uniqueness theorems for these algebras, and analyze their ideal structure.

Magnitude of COVID-19 deaths relative to other leading causes of death: a global analysis
Objectives To quantify the burden of death that COVID-19 contributes relative to the top three causes of death for all countries.Design We performed uncertainty analyses and created contour plots for COVID-19 mortality to place the number of COVID-19 ...

BRANCHING SYSTEMS FOR HIGHER-RANK GRAPH C*-ALGEBRAS [PDF]
AbstractWe define branching systems for finitely aligned higher-rank graphs. From these, we construct concrete representations of higher-rank graph C*-algebras on Hilbert spaces. We prove a generalized Cuntz–Krieger uniqueness theorem for periodic single-vertex 2-graphs.
