Buckling and free vibration analysis of orthotropic plates by using exponential shear deformation theory

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
In the present paper, an exponential shear deformation theory is used to determine the natural frequencies and critical buckling loads of orthotropic plates.

Damped forced vibration analysis of single-walled carbon nanotubes resting on viscoelastic foundation in thermal environment using nonlocal strain gradient theory

open access: yesEngineering Science and Technology, an International Journal, 2018
In this paper, the damped forced vibration of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is analyzed using a new shear deformation beam theory. The SWCNTs are modeled as a flexible beam on the viscoelastic foundation embedded in the thermal environment and ...

Shear yielding of amorphous glassy solids: Effect of temperature and strain rate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We study shear yielding and steady state flow of glassy materials with molecular dynamics simulations of two standard models: amorphous polymers and bidisperse Lennard-Jones glasses.

Molecular Dynamics Studies of Shape Memory Polymers: From Bead–Spring Models to Atomistic Simulations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Coarse‐grained (left) and atomistic (right) models of the shape memory polymer ESTANE ETE 75DT3 are shown schematically. The two representations bridge molecular detail and mesoscopic description. Both models capture shape memory behavior, linking segmental mobility and conformational relaxation of anisotropic chains to macroscopic recovery, and ...

Investigation of the Static Bending Response of FGM Sandwich Plates [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics
In the present work, a displacement-based high-order shear deformation theory is introduced for the static response of functionally graded plates. The present theory is variationally consistent and strongly similar to the classical plate theory in many ...

Designing Polymer Nanocomposites for X‐Ray Shielding: Mechanisms, Architectures, and Scalable Processing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights advances in lightweight, lead‐free polymer nanocomposites for diagnostic X‐ray shielding. By linking filler chemistry, dispersion, architecture, and photon interaction mechanisms, it establishes structure–performance relationships guiding material design.

Formation of Stable Amorphous Calcium Phosphate and Collagen Assemblies by a Versatile Spray‐Drying Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amorphous calcium phosphate (ACP) microparticles with long‐term and thermal stability are prepared with or without collagen using a scalable one‐pot spray‐drying process. Under simulated physiological conditions, they crystallize into biomimetic bone mineral and, when combined with collagen, form extrudable, fibrillar bone‐like 3D constructs.

Vibration and Buckling Analysis of Functionally Graded Plates Using New Eight-Unknown Higher Order Shear Deformation Theory

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
In this paper a new eight-unknown higher order shear deformation theory is proposed to study the buckling and free vibration of functionally graded (FG) material plates.

Free Vibration of a Thick Sandwich Plate Using Higher Order Shear Deformation Theory and DQM for Different Boundary Conditions [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied and Computational Mechanics, 2017
In this paper, the effect of different boundary conditions on the free vibration analysis response of a sandwich plate is presented using the higher order shear deformation theory.
