Interdisciplinarity patterns of highly‐cited papers: A cross‐disciplinary analysis [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Society for Information Science and Technology, 2014
ABSTRACTThis study analyzes the level of interdisciplinarity and interspecialty of highly cited papers. We distinguish research referring to different disciplines (referred to as “interdisciplinarity”) and research referring to different specialties of the same discipline (referred to as “interspecialty”).

The changing role of cited papers over time: An analysis of highly cited papers based on a large full text dataset

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
In this paper, we have analyzed the changing role of cited papers over time. This was done by taking 880 HCPs as a case dataset and by collecting the full text of more than 220 thousand papers that are citing those HCPs. Based on the collected full text data, we have analyzed how different aspects of the citations to the HCPs change over time.

DigiChrom: A Domain Ontology for Semantic Representation of Trivalent Chromium Platings and Its Large Language Model‐Based Alignment With Multiple Mid‐Level Ontologies

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Digitalizing electroplating requires both domain knowledge and interoperability. This work introduces PlatOn, a domain ontology for trivalent chromium plating and coating characterization, and a hybrid pipeline that aligns it to a mid‐level reference ontology by combining eight similarity metrics with language model reasoning. Expert‐validated mappings

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
