THEORETICAL SUBSTANTIATION OF THE USE OF FLY ASH AS A FILLER IN ASPHALT

open access: yesДороги і мости
Introduction. Asphalt mixtures are one of the most widely used materials in road construction. For the production of these mixtures, mainly conditioned mineral materials are used – coarse aggregate, fine aggregate and filler, and bitumen is used as a ...

A Multi‐Model Intelligent Assessment Framework for Temporary Median Opening Design in Expressway Reconstruction and Expansion

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2026.
A multi‐model intelligent framework integrating VISSIM simulation, CRITIC weighting, and four parallel assessment modules evaluates temporary median opening lengths in expressway reconstruction and expansion. Comparative and cross‐validation analysis confirms its effectiveness, with 100 m recommended for most scenarios, reducing single‐model bias ...

Permanent Deformation Characteristics of Beach Sand as a Subgrade Filler Integrating Dynamic Triaxial Testing and Machine Learning

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2026.
Dynamic triaxial tests, field FBG monitoring, and machine‐learning analysis reveal that beach‐sand subgrade deformation is governed primarily by deviatoric stress and moisture. Fine sand deforms more than medium sand, while overload and wet‐side moisture deviation sharply amplify permanent deformation.

Comparative Study on Shear Reinforcement Performance of Prestressed Concrete Hollow Slab Beams in Existing Highways

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 10, October 2026.
Insufficient shear resistance exists at the supports of old prestressed hollow slab beams in expressway reconstruction and expansion. Three full‐scale reinforcement tests show the combined stiffening ring hoop ranks best with a 25.8% increase, followed by diagonal reinforcement at 19.9% and vertical reinforcement at 15%, each suitable for different ...

Effects of Landscape Structure and Roads on Anuran Assemblages in the Brazilian Cerrado

open access: yesAustral Ecology, Volume 51, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT The Brazilian Cerrado harbours a highly diverse and well‐represented anuran fauna, yet the effects of anthropogenic factors, such as roads, habitat loss and fragmentation, on these assemblages remain poorly understood. In the present study, we address this knowledge gap by testing the relationship between landscape metrics and anuran assembly (

Cement stabilisation of road base course: A chronological development in Western Australia

open access: yes, 2011
The use of cement stabilisation technologies was first pioneered in Australia as early as the 1950s. However, its use did not spread to Western Australia until the 1970s when an investigation was commissioned by Main Roads Western Australia (MRWA) to ...
