State of Charge Estimation of EV Secondary Battery Pack Using Hybrid Hedge Feedforward Feedback‐Based Gated Recurrent Unit to Extend Lifespan

open access: yesBattery Energy, Volume 5, Issue 2, March 2026.
SOC estimation is performed using a newly developed online HFF‐GRU method. Improves charge balancing among battery cells, leading to a substantial increase in the battery pack's lifespan. ABSTRACT Accurate estimation of state of charge (SoC) and maintaining balanced charge levels across secondary battery cells are crucial in battery management systems (

Waiting for a Release: The Expectation in Virtual Gaming Communities

open access: yesJournal of Consumer Behaviour, Volume 25, Issue 2, Page 534-560, March 2026.
ABSTRACT This study examines how virtual gaming communities influence and maintain player expectations before, during, and after a game's release. A mixed‐methods study was conducted, comprising a netnography followed by an experiment. First, a netnographic study was conducted over 12 months, tracking communities to understand player behavior and ...

When Fever Defies Diagnosis: Wissler–Fanconi Syndrome as an Atypical Presentation of Adult‐Onset Still's Disease

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Adult‐onset Still's disease should be considered in young adults presenting with fever of unknown origin and inflammatory arthritis, even in the absence of rash or sore throat. Recognition of the Wissler–Fanconi variant and early ferritin testing can prevent diagnostic delay and enable prompt, effective immunosuppressive therapy.

Anthropogenic Infrastructures Shape Brown Bear Movements in Human‐Modified Landscapes

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
Human activities are major drivers of changes in animal behaviour, resulting in diverse spatial and temporal activity patterns across species. In this study, we analysed telemetry data from brown bears in Finland, Slovakia and Romania, to compare how human infrastructure influences their movement behaviour.

Differential Susceptibility May Not Drive Chytridiomycosis Related Declines in Multi‐Host Amphibian Communities

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
We investigated how Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis (Bd) affects multi‐host amphibian communities in Tasmania, Australia. Despite differential susceptibility, we found no evidence of population declines in susceptible species, suggesting that current environmental conditions may buffer communities against Bd impacts.
