Quantitative Identification of Pulse-Like Ground Motions Based on Hilbert–Huang Transform
Aiming to address the problem of pulse-like ground motions being difficult to identify, this paper refines the Baker’s wavelet-based pulse-like ground motions identification method, followed by a new pulse-like ground motion identification method based ...

Fault Identify of Bearing Using Enhanced Hilbert-Huang Transform [PDF]
Today the maintenance and repair based on condition monitoring techniques of rotating equipment is one of the most important tools to prevent stopping of production and reduce the cost of maintenance and repair and the vibration analysis according to the

A New Spectral Representation of Earthquake Recordings Using an Improved Hilbert-Huang Transform [PDF]
A new spectral representation method of earthquake recordings using an improved Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT) is proposed in the paper. Firstly, the problem that the intrinsic mode functions (IMFs) decomposed by the empirical mode decomposition (EMD) in ...

Variance‐Empirical Mode Decomposition Method for Fault Detection in MMC‐HVDC Transmission Lines
A variance‐embedded empirical mode decomposition (VEMD) method is proposed for fast and accurate fault detection in MMC‐HVDC transmission lines. By combining variance analysis with EMD, the method reliably detects various faults without communication links and remains robust to noise and non‐fault transients.

Hilbert-Huang Transform in Fault Detection
Abstract Failures of manufacturing systems represent a significant cost in both repairs and downtime. A considerable percentage of the maintenance cost is caused by unexpected drivetrain failures. This paper proposes a Hilbert-Huang transform (HHT)-based algorithm to effectively detect malfunctioning by revealing the instantaneous amplitude and ...

Fault Detection of Electric Motors via Symmetrized Dot Pattern‐Based Features
ABSTRACT This study proposes a novel symmetrized dot pattern (SDP) approach using designed SDP‐based features, extracted from transformed vibration signals, for fault detection. These features describe the compactness, inclination, and shape of the “snowflake” diagram distributions.

Lagrangian single-particle turbulent statistics through the Hilbert-Huang transform [PDF]
The Hilbert-Huang transform is applied to analyze single-particle Lagrangian velocity data from numerical simulations of hydrodynamic turbulence. The velocity trajectory is described in terms of a set of intrinsic mode functions Ci(t) and of their ...

Estimating the critical angle of top near‐surface layers on the Moon
Abstract Near‐surface characterization of the lunar subsurface is essential for future exploration and infrastructure development, particularly for the construction of underground habitats that provide protection against radiation and micrometeorites. However, conventional seismic approaches for estimating subsurface properties typically rely on prior ...
