Delivery and Attitude Modulate Shared Neural Processing of Speech Through Distinct Frequency Channels

open access: yesPsychophysiology, Volume 63, Issue 10, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Listeners' brains align when they attend to the same speech, but what determines how strongly they align is not well understood. We asked whether that alignment tracks the communicative relation between a listener and a message, manipulating it from the speaker's side and from the listener's, and bounding the account with a manipulation that ...

Abelian number fields with frobenian conditions

open access: yesMathematika, Volume 72, Issue 4, October 2026.
Abstract We study the distribution of abelian number fields with frobenian conditions imposed on the conductor. In particular, we find an asymptotic for the number of abelian field extensions of a number field k$k$ whose conductor is the sum of two squares. We also discuss an application of the Brauer group of stacks to quadratic number fields.

Fire‐Atmosphere Coupling Starts Upwind: Selective Redistribution of Turbulence at the Fire‐Induced Rear Inflow

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.
Abstract Wildfires alter local atmospheric conditions, yet the spatial extent and frequency‐dependent characteristics of fire‐induced inflow perturbations remain largely unquantified. This study applies Multivariate Empirical Mode Decomposition (MEMD) to analyze high‐frequency horizontal wind speed data from a tower positioned at varying distances (∼80–

A Stochastic Approach for Recovery Times of Coastal Dune Vegetation

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 17, 16 September 2026.
Abstract The resilience of coastal dunes to environmental stress largely depends on vegetation recovery, which promotes sediment trapping and sand stabilization. However, post‐disturbance recovery dynamics remain difficult to quantify due to the complex interplay between biotic and abiotic processes.

Adaptive Observer for Coupled Wave PDE and Infinite ODE With Sampled Data and Unknown Input: Application to Brain Hemodynamics Estimation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Volume 40, Issue 9, Page 1932-1944, September 2026.
This article proposes a convergent adaptive observer for a damped wave PDE and an infinite‐dimensional ODE coupled in cascade using sampled‐in‐space ODE state measurements. The proposed observer estimates the distributed states of the PDE and ODE along with unknown PDE parameters and spatial input.
