Applications of Fast Iterative Filtering in NMR Spectroscopy: Baseline Correction

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Chemistry, Volume 63, Issue 9, Page 737-747, September 2025.
Fast iterative filtering is a signal decomposition technique related to empirical mode decomposition. When decomposing NMR data into intrinsic mode functions, FIF effectively partitions broad baseline components from narrow peaks components, even in heavily distorted spectra, for instance, those of paramagnetic compounds.

Leveraging genetic resources and genomic prediction to enhance flavonol content in cranberry fruit

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 3, September 2025.
Abstract American cranberry fruit (Vaccinium macrocarpon Ait.) are rich in flavonols, a subgroup of flavonoids that contribute to human health and plant stress resilience. Despite their importance, the genetic diversity and potential for improvement of flavonols in cranberry remain underexplored.

Genomic prediction for heat and herbicide tolerance in faba bean

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 3, September 2025.
Abstract Genomic selection (GS) has potential to accelerate the genetic gain in crop plants. This study was undertaken to assess the accuracy and potential of GS in faba bean [Vicia faba (L.)] and to enhance its application in breeding programs. A set of 118 diverse faba bean accessions were phenotyped for key agronomic traits under herbicide and heat ...

Phenotypic plasticity in maize grain yield: Genetic and environmental insights of response to environmental gradients

open access: yesThe Plant Genome, Volume 18, Issue 3, September 2025.
Abstract Understanding genotype‐by‐environment (G × E) interactions that underlie phenotypic variation, when observed for complex traits in multi‐environment trials, is important for biological discovery and for crop improvement. The regression‐on‐the‐mean model is an approach to observe G × E trends for complex traits across a gradient of ...

Impact of Digital Transformation on Rehabilitating Higher Education Infrastructure in Conflict‐Affected Settings

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Education, Volume 60, Issue 3, September 2025.
ABSTRACT The rapid growth of digital technologies has revolutionised various sectors globally, offering new opportunities for development and recovery. However, rehabilitating higher education infrastructure in war‐torn settings presents significant challenges, often exacerbated by limited resources and ongoing crises.
