Comparison of Non-linear Signals Analysis Methods

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
In modern engineering, linear is relative, while non-linear and non-stationary is absolute. There are many methods in non-linear signals processing. How to select a most suitable analysis method quickly for the nonlinear signal is particularly important,

Spectral expansions of non-self-adjoint generalized Laguerre semigroups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We provide the spectral expansion in a weighted Hilbert space of a substantial class of invariant non-self-adjoint and non-local Markov operators which appear in limit theorems for positive-valued Markov processes. We show that this class is in bijection

Feature Selection for Machine Learning‐Driven Accelerated Discovery and Optimization in Emerging Photovoltaics: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
Feature selection combined with machine learning and high‐throughput experimentation enables efficient handling of high‐dimensional datasets in emerging photovoltaics. This approach accelerates material discovery, improves process optimization, and strengthens stability prediction, while overcoming challenges in data quality and model scalability to ...

New method for gear fault diagnosis using empirical wavelet transform, Hilbert transform, and cosine similarity metric

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2020
In this article, a new feature extraction method is proposed for gear fault diagnosis by combining the empirical wavelet transform, Hilbert transform, and cosine similarity metric.

Autonomous Recognition of Retained Secretions in Central‐Airway Based on Deep Learning for Adult Patients Receiving Invasive Mechanical Ventilation

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
This work presents a deep learning model to autonomously recognize and classify the secretion retention into three levels for patients receiving invasive mechanical ventilation, achieving 89.08% accuracy. This model can be implemented to ventilators by edge computing, whose feasibility is approved.

Hilbert spaces built on a similarity and on dynamical renormalization

open access: yes, 2005
We develop a Hilbert space framework for a number of general multi-scale problems from dynamics. The aim is to identify a spectral theory for a class of systems based on iterations of a non-invertible endomorphism. We are motivated by the more familiar

Efficient Dynamics: Reduced‐Order Modeling of the Time‐Dependent Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Reduced‐order modeling (ROM) approaches for the time‐dependent Schrödinger equation are investigated, highlighting their ability to simulate quantum dynamics efficiently. Proper Orthogonal Decomposition, Dynamic Mode Decomposition, and Reduced Basis Methods are compared across canonical systems and extended to higher dimensions.

Feature Extraction of Weak Fault for Rolling Bearing based on Spectral Kurtosis and MOMEDA

open access: yesJixie chuandong, 2021
Aiming at the problem that the early periodic transient impulse of rolling bearings is not obvious and the spectral kurtosis is poorly analyzed under low signal-to-noise ratio, a method of extracting the weak fault features of rolling bearing based on ...

Rising Strong: Cultivating Resilience in Edible City Entrepreneurship. Insights Into the Landscape of Urban Food Initiatives

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In response to growing global challenges, this study explores how social entrepreneurship within the Edible City movement contributes to building resilient, sustainable, and equitable urban food systems. Drawing on semistructured interviews with over 70 stakeholders across five cities—Berlin, Andernach, Oslo, Rotterdam, and Havana—we ...

Advanced control of non‐isothermal axial dispersion tubular reactors with recycle‐induced state delay

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop a delay‐aware estimation and control framework for a non‐isothermal axial dispersion tubular reactor modelled as a coupled parabolic‐hyperbolic PDE system with recycle‐induced state delay. The infinite‐dimensional dynamics are preserved without spatial discretization by representing the delay as a transport PDE and adopting a late ...
