Hilbert symbol in a discrete valuated field
In a complete discrete valuated field of characteristic zero with perfect residue field of prime characteristic a pairing with values in the group of primary elements is defined. It is proved that this pairing agrees with the Hilbert norm residue symbol and therefore provides an explicit formula for the latter.

Higher degree tame hilbert-symbol equivalence of number fields
Abhandlungen aus dem Mathematischen Seminar der Universität Hamburg, 1999The main aim of the paper is to give necessary and sufficient conditions for the tame degree \(\ell\) Hilbert-symbol equivalence of two number fields \(K\) and \(L\) where \(\ell\) is an odd prime. The conditions are expressed in terms of the classical invariants, and are similar to those given in the author's paper [Acta Arith.

Hilbert’s ε-Symbol in the Presence of Generalized Quantifiers
1995The so called Hilbert’s e-symbol transforms a formula φ(x) in a term ex φ(x) with the intended meaning: “some x such that φ(x), if such x exists, an arbitrary individual, otherwise”.

Hilbert's Axiomatics as ‘Symbolic Form’?
Perspectives on Science, 2014According to Ernst Cassirer, symbolic forms “are not different modes in which an independent reality manifests itself to the human spirit but roads which the spirit proceeds towards its objectivization, i.e., its self-revelation” (1923, p. 78). Can Hilbert's axiomatics be viewed as a symbolic form?
