The Geometry of Layer 2/3 Cortical Sound Processing in Slow Wave Sleep
Sleep is associated with a sensory disconnection whose mechanisms remain elusive. Large neuronal population recordings in the auditory cortex revealed that, in NREM sleep, the neural code for sounds is highly similar to wakefulness, but coordinated modulations of neuron responsiveness intermittently disconnect the local cortical networks from sensory ...

The Zakharov-Shabat spectral problem on the semi-line: Hilbert formulation and applications
The inverse spectral transform for the Zakharov-Shabat equation on the semi-line is reconsidered as a Hilbert problem. The boundary data induce an essential singularity at large k to one of the basic solutions.

A Virtual Clinical Trial of Psychedelics to Treat Patients With Disorders of Consciousness
Disorders of consciousness after severe brain injury are marked by reduced complexity of brain activity and limited treatment options. Using personalized whole‐brain models, this study shows that simulated lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) and psilocybin shift patient brain dynamics closer to criticality.

This work introduces a beamforming‐based method to generate acoustic images from fiber‐optic distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) data. By performing 2D scanning around the sensing fiber, the approach enables near‐field imaging and localization of acoustic sources, even in regions distant from the fiber. A data‐driven DAS channel selection improves image

An instantaneous frequency analysis method of stay cables
This paper presents and evaluates in detail a conjugate-pair decomposition method for tracking the instantaneous frequency of a vibration signal by processing only three (or more) most recent data points, and Probability Box theory was employed to obtain

A Clarification on Quantum‐Metric‐Induced Nonlinear Transport
How does the quantum metric truly govern the nonlinear transport? The longstanding theoretical discrepancies are resolved in quantum‐metric‐induced nonlinear transport and the correct intrinsic nonlinear conductivity is identified. Furthermore, a toy model is engineered to suppress the competing effects, uniquely highlighting the role of quantum metric

Multi‐Soliton Microcombs Enable Ultrafast Nanometric‐Precision Ranging and Photon‐Level Detection
Our work first demonstrates dual‐multi‐soliton ranging and confirms its multifunctional capability. The method achieves ultrafast and nanometric‐precision measurement. For practical applications, we further extend the multi‐soliton states to photon‐level ranging.
